BMW hood roundel stud/peg broke and got stuck in hood?
If anybody faced this problem while trying to remove their old hood roundel, here's what I did:
1. Push the broken/stuck stud/peg into the hood with a pencil or pen. It will fall into the abyss of the hood. 2. After pushing in the broken stud/peg you are left with one rubber grommet in the hood and a bigger hole where you pushed the stud/peg all the way in. 3. Coat the peg/stud that will go into the grommet-less hole with some silicon (avail at auto parts store for ~$5) 4. Push the new roundel in at the desired position and let the silicon set for 20-30 mins. Don's assume the roundel is in position as it will have wiggle room while the silicon sets. I would've posted pics but I was in panic mode throughout this process...

Had one break. Just drilled out the plastic piece by going with a small bit, then a bigger bit then just popped the last little pieces out.

Tried pushing, didn't go anywhere so I gave up. I'll give it another shot when I can, its literally freezing and dark outside. Thought about the drill thing too. That's plan B. Pushing was the only way I got rid of the old trunk grommets.

Ok, so here are photos of what I just did. I know it is an old post, BUT I wanted to give the poor next guy some pointers.
Broken roundel, broken emblem removal The little nubs/studs were stuck flush and no pliers would get them out, nor pushing them through.
