I'm guessing bent rod (well that was Tim's suggestion) bent valve or some bearing noise posting here because I won't make the dyno day, so there's now a spare spot |

Dyno data is here, and some vids!
The data has arrived!! Dyno's are a tuning tool, so it's all about data and comparing with your previous runs on the same dyno, or pre and post getting tuned, or comparing to other cars with similar output from factory / similar tune, running same fuel, or just setting a baseline for yourself to compare with in the future... etc.
Some data is missing from the table, I am not going to chase people to complete the table, so I filled up everything I know, and put a red "?" for the unknowns. Members are welcome to pm me info for their cars, and I'll fill in the missing data. Plenty of people has expressed that this particular dyno reads low, I don't think it really matters, as long as all cars are showing consistent figures to one another. I do think that this dyno reads a little lower than I expected, giving the drivetrain losses that BMW quotes in their tech docus, BMW says the drivetrain efficiency is 89% for a manual E9x platform, that means there should be only 11% drivetrain losses. But we've all seen slightly higher drivetrain losses than what can be calculated theoretically (specially on the E92 M3's). The only car that put down numbers today, that match the standard drivetrain losses calculations is the Cayman GT4. It's quoted by Porsche to make 283kW at the flywheel, and it made 246rwkW, which accounts for 14% loss. On the other hand, the two tuned E92 M3's made 238 and 244rwkW, and from factory they're quoted at 309kW, that accounts for 22% drivetrain loss, and supposedly those two E92 M3's are also tuned. Bone stock M3's make even less than the 238rwkW that those cars made today, which works out to be closer to 30% drivetrain losses. If I used the Cayman's percentage loss on my car, then my car makes 300kW at the flywheel, if I followed the E92 M3's, then it's closer to 330-340kW which is definitely too high to believe. Quang's stock M2 Competition made 269.4rwkW on the same dyno, on a different day, and they're rated at 302kW at the flywheel, works out to be 11.8% exactly, which is very close to the 11% drivetrain loss percentage BMW quotes. It's safe to say losses are somewhere between 11-15%, and in my opinion, the S65 in the E92 M3 is more of a 280-290kW motor instead of the 309kW BMW quotes, as there's no other explanation to why they were seeing huge drivetrain losses compared to other cars. Either Way, it doesn't make too much of difference as long as all cars put down consistent numbers to one another on the same dyno in the same conditions. Screenshot of the data table and some videos of the day:

Curious to see two cars running the MHD E30 map with similar mods making 30rwkw difference in power. One being an N54 and the other N55, could that would be the contributing factor?

It's all about how much air can you shove through these motors, but the volumetric efficiency is roughly the same for the 3.0L capacity. Honestly, if I had a N55, I wouldn't be happy at all with the stock turbo size. I'd have certainly upgraded to TTE550 (or Pure Stage 2, but I'd rather avoid Pure, they screwed Socket over when his N54 hybrid turbos failed). TTE is German based, more popular than Pure in Europe, and they're significantly better to deal with overall. If it's a late N55 car (can't remember the month/year cut off date on top of my head), you'll also need a XDI upgraded HPFP for fueling, the later N55 cars got a crap pump from factory. That'll set you another $2.8k AUD delivered for the pump.

Here's my log of the first E30 MHD Stage 2+ pull on the dyno.. for 280.6kw
Bit of timing corrections up top from 5000rpm but very surprised what E85 does to these cars.. With E50 and fuel pump it will go over 300kw atw which is very impressive for this platform on unopened engine, stock turbos and basic bolt-ons. https://datazap.me/u/mircebob/dyno-p...-9-10-14-15-21
