Hi All,

I’m well on my way to N54-swapping my e91. During the swap I’m doing a full M sport conversion and swapping on pre-LCI mirrors. I’m probably going to have the front and rear bumpers painted (I’m likely going to source them from Umnita who offers painting). However, I sourced the side skirts and will need to paint them Crimson Red. I’m experienced in painting with an HVLP gun (cabinets, mostly) so I want to try it myself.

Do you all have any recommendations for which paint brand I should use? PPG seems like a good choice. I’m okay spending a little more for quality paint. In my experience the quality of the paint is just about as important as anything else.

Also, the mounting plate for the pre-LCI mirrors are all a flat black (not body color). Are they are different plastic or something that doesn’t allow them to be painted? Or is it just a coating?
