Rear End Noise - Brakes?
I bought a 328XI (6 speed manual) for super cheap and one issue is a grinding metallic scraping noise. It seems from the left rear.
I got it in the air and for sure spinning the wheel is quite hard and makes a grinding noise, I took the caliper off and pads and the noise is not there as bad but there's still a bit of resistance to spin. Wheel on is a little easier. The guide bolts were extremely stuck and corroded, so new ones will go in. My question is could bad guide bolts cause some of the issues if the brakes were dragging or something? Or is it more likely I have a sticky caliper? How much resistance should there be spinning the wheel?

It sounds like it might be your parking brake. The shoes press up against the interior of your rotor hat and the clearance is fine tuned with an adjustment cog.
Here what it looks like without the rotor mounted. https://youtube.com/shorts/yQ9tlkIXI..._-rbas9y7bjLwT |
