Window stuck down after installing new rear window regulator
I replaced my right rear failed window regulator (cable snapped) with a Dorman 749469. I moved the motor from the failed unit to the new one. I tried the initialization procedure: move window down and hold for 5s but it gets stuck there.
This video shows the operation https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...B4VVZmTnNyQXpB Here's one showing it working then getting stuck https://photos.app.goo.gl/qiyyFPNWGBE7YCTU9 When stuck and I click the up button it tries to go up a tiny amount then quickly goes back. If I keep doing this it will eventually go up and it operates up and down but it will get stuck again in the fully down position. I can help it up with some light force while holding the button and it will go up. There doesn’t seem to be any friction in the track so I’m wondering if the motor be worn out or maybe the regulator has too much stiction. I do not have the door panel on while doing this since I want to verify it worked but didn’t think this would affect the operation. I was thinking of trying a URO motor. Then if that doesn't work a higher quality URO regulator. |
