N52 Shaky Start up

Reddit Vid

Does anyone know what would cause my start up to act like this? it starts off like normal then shakes up and down by like ~50 rpm then revs up to ~1.2k rpm. After that rev up by itself it settles down like normal. It drives completely fine other than being in somewhat of a limp mode.

Before this all happened I used Liqui moly 5w-30 oil change kit from FCP and had it done by my local Take 5. I've normally used 5w-40 but decided to switch this time around.

I checked both of my VANOS solenoids, cleaned them, shook them and they rattled a bit (normal), tested with a 9v battery and some alligator clips (they actuated fine), and they still cause a CEL.

When I reset the codes, I can start it up twice then it'll pop the light after it revs itself up then settles down.

This is the CEL translated from german: Error: 1(1) No.: 10876 0x2A7C VANOS, Intake, Cold Start (5584) not adjustable • Readiness Flag: (16) Test conditions fulfilled • Error status: (33) Error not currently present, OBD debounced • MIL – Status: (49) Error would cause the check engine light (MIL) to illuminate.
