It is, that picture does it no justice. The actual inner diameter is so small where the turbo connects, makes you wonder... It's actually more smaller on the turbo end vs. the outlet side. Pretty much like a bottle neck effect... Just changed mines last weekend...

The biggest issue is boost leaks and the pipe breaking from tightening the T-bolt clamp too tight.

Can the pipe be made shiny smooth to match the chargpipes and input pipes?

This wrinkle black matches their chargepipes already.

I guess I'll have to change out my charge pipe and input pipe to match.

No one would ever see that pipe anyways. It's buried down in there for the most part.

Has anyone purchased this yet that can post some photos of the inside of the pipe?

@Tiago@VRSF , does this pipe take the flex between the Turbo and the intercooler?

I'm worried that since the turbo moves with the motor and the intercooler is mounted to the chassis that replacing the flexible plastic pipe with a rigid aluminum one will place a lot of stress on either the turbo housing or the C-clip connection right there.

Would it make sense to make this tube a 2 piece design with a silicone coupler in the middle?

I wouldn't think it takes the flex out. The plastic pipe is solid as well, and when you install an intercooler you either leave that OEM flexible bit, or in the case of a VRSF intercooler, cut it off and use a silicone coupler directly to the solid plastic pipe .

Since this pipe is larger than the oem pipe, can we expect any gains?

I think you need to look at it from a restriction standpoint. The stock unit wasn't nearly as restrictive as the N54 so our gains, if any, will be no where near that. The next thing you need to look at is how much air you're moving. If you're a person that is running a OTS MHD map I am sure the stock unit would flow enough. If you're using an upgraded turbo and running a lot more air through it I am sure that you will see some gain. We wont know until someone installs it with a before and after dyno.

I will say though that if anyone is using an aftermarket intercooler that does not have the stock style connector that they should use this pipe. I believe it is the first place you would have a boost leak as it warps when you tighten the intercooler coupler clamp. I personally have two clamps clocked 90 degrees from each other to stop my boost leak.

I would and will take advantage of the sale that Tiagio is running this month. If I didn't put it on my Christmas list I would buy one for each vehicle.

cool. i guess it is beneficial for those with turbo upgrade and is running significantly higher boost than stock.

I already have the ER Competition FMIC and it seems like the kit already includes an outlet pipe?

https://www.n54tuning.com/er-competi...5/335/535.html

Is there any point for me to get the VRSF outlet pipe?

I have the ER intercooler and charge pipe kit and it does not include this pipe. This goes on the passenger side between the intercooler and the turbo. At least that's the case for the E series version I have.

I am in the process of an ECU tune. I was advised to hold off on the next set of logs until after the pipe is installed.
