My first steps with the GoPro HD Hero2
Guten Abend, guys!
I was always impressed of youtube-videos shot with gopro cams. So a couple of weeks ago, i decided to get one myself. I´d just like to share the first two little videos with you guys. In the first one, i started to try out a couple of different mounting positions and put a song on it.^^ Sadly, the battery was gone after like an hour, so at the end i came up with a very short video. -.- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPh2H...feature=relmfu Second video shows my new PP exhaust for the 325i e92. Not too exciting, but i like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3lu4gUY4z8 I would love to hear your opinions or experiences with the gopro or similar cams. Grüße Felix |

GoPro Hero 2
I've had a week off for Thanksgiving, so that gave me some time. I haven't had the balls (in the process) to mount on the exterior on the 35iS. I've mounted the Hero2 inside the dash and made timelapse videos of long drives, but that's it so far. Timelapse: Clouds Timelapse: Sunrise Timelapse: Day to Night

That cloud timelaps video is really nice!
I tried to mount the gopro on the outside of the car already on the first day. Tried some different options on our mustang. and.... well.... it fell of at about 50mph. but it´s still fine.^^ the case has some scratches now, but nothing too bad. |

That's my main reason for not mounting on the exterior of the paint, just yet. I know the GoPro suction mount has been used on fast automobiles and small planes, but I have the creep feeling that something bad will happen.

Mine remained attach @ 160 m.p.h. and 90 m.p.h. during rain without an issue. The only thing that suck is the wind noise once you hit about 40 (even in the sealed waterproof case).

Tether it if you can. I have used one on my Sea Doo which does 70 and have taken a wall of water over the bow and still did not lose it. Tether it and make sure you wipe alcohol over the spot you are applying it to.

You're absolutely correct. It's now a matter of having the guts to mount it on the hood/windshield and start driving - clunk-clunk-clunk - and here comes the Hero3! I'll mount it one day and figure out a tethering method

I mounted it on the rear fender, which is a bit curved. And there was some dust on it. Looks like the suction mount can´t cope with that. But... never mind. It still works. I fitted a string with a little piece of plastic to the mount, which i use as some kind of a safety string. I shut it into the door or the trunk so that it can´t possibly fall of anymore... |

Well... it is not the most sophisticated solution. But it actually works
