First road trip in the 335d

Last Sunday my wife left Thousand Oaks and drove to San Diego with two other adults and a weeks worth of luggage for each in our newly purchased 335d. They drove around SD each evening after conference hours and made the trip back to Thousand Oaks yesterday. Total miles driven was 430. I was surprised that she still had almost a quarter tank left. Amazing machines these 335d's.

If I drove it all the time I would most likely lose my licence....lol. It goes so fast with so little effort that its like a drug.....gotta have more, frequently. Since she commutes and I dont, I let her take it to work and I play with it on the weekends.

My wife is afraid to drive mine. I don't whether she is afraid she will break something or whether it is the difficulty in modulating the go pedal. I have even volunteered to have some test runs in a big empty parking lot. Maybe I should be grateful.

I drive 353 or 800miles in mine a lot. I find it a very good highway cruiser. It's so easy to pass people on the highway and cruise 80mph with getting good MPGs. If only this car was 800lb lighter and had a manual trans.

I'd rather have the 535d for m550d here.

Also, I don't know what it is but thinking about my M57 in an all wheel drive sedan just sounds perfect. We'd also have much better use of that 1st gear we all skip over when pouncing off the line.

You just gave me a better idea. Put the m550d's 381hp/546tq diesel engine in a 1M body. So...m135d?!

I remember my first road trip about a year ago from Vancouver, BC to Los Angeles, CA. I drove the I5 down to and the 101 back up and I the diesel performed flawlessly in either direction. I was sad when I arrived at my destination

They are OEM Style 197 rims sent to the paint shop with a matt black paint.. Now I am looking for a trunk spoiler lip like the ones for the E46, does anybody know where I can find a good one?
