they check, just maybe not in here, stickies usually get ignored after awhile as a discussion are because they are checked infrequently

but for your question, though im not 100% positive, the map that comes with your xede would tell your car to run a richer a/f which isnt bad, lean is bad

i think some things like a new intake or something you might have to dyno to make sure your not lean because the ecu is dealing with the a/f, but to my knowledge xede pretty much tells the ecu to run THIS a/f or im going to kick your ass (the xede uses very abusive language when talking to the ecu, smacks it aorund sometimes too)

itll be a little less hp because things like timing and such are retarded (as in held back) to a point that all the cars out there can handle, and if u get it custom tuned thell get bumped up as much as your paticular engine can handle

i am probably going to get flamed for asking and i have looked around a bit...

are there going to be maps that we can load for race gas to make more power, or can we just have the maps loaded and flip in between different modes, stock, pump gas, race gas.

I ask becuase in my Audi i run 100 octane almost daily to take advantage of higher boost and timing and make more power.

exspensive but fun as hell.

thanks and sorry if it was asked a million times.

If I understand the product correctly, you can have 2 maps loaded and switch seamlessly between the 2.

Yup, no problem.

A little tipsy atm, so pardon any mistakes.

There will be a race gas map availible eventually, what that might mean is maybe 2+ months after XEDE release. While ordering the XEDE you may specify the maps you would like to come with it. Initially, i assume there will be only 91/93/94 octane maps availible, plus others that are independant of ocate (valet, etc.). Once Vishnu have release, supported and made time for further development of the XEDE, im 99% sure they will explore higher octanes, among other thigns.

In the future, if ordering a XEDE, or having an existing unit installed, the customer may update the maps held in memory and change them with the required equipment (laptop, serial cable...).

Thus, when a race map is availible, only after Vishnu tests its reliabilty and can define its advantages in HP/TQ/.25 mi/curves/ on and on and on...... would I assume it would be released.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way an authority on this product, or have endorsment from anyone who is.

latest

From what I have seen:

1. Shiv tuning "xede" ecu upgrade unit, as well as exhaust. http://www.vishnutuning.com/
2. EVOtech officially has an ECU upgrade out (http://www.dynocomp.com/bmw.php?view=bmw) they claim 375hp! It seems BMW has scared off EVOtech by telling them there will be overheating issues with the engine if they go into the ECU. I have yet to confirm this.
3. H&R Springs from the E90 can be used on this car.
4. CP-E has a BOV out, and an exhaust out or in the works. www.cp-e.com
5. Milltek (not sure how its spelled) has an upgraded diverter valve or BOV, and an exhaust in the works. http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust....?variantid=219
6. There is another company www.technikpower.com who have a project 335 they are working on, and they wil have parts out at some point.
7. There is another company called "H&S Elektronik" in Germany offering an ECU reflash/upgrade. http://www.hs-elektronik.com/start.html
http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenbl...35i-306ps.html
They claim a jump from 306hp to 360hp, as well as jumping the speed limiter from 155 miles/hr to 185 miles/hr.
8. The big names like Hamman, Dinan, and AC schnitzer are all working on parts packages, it may be many months before they have parts available.
9. Another ECU upgrade: Competence Tuning ECU upgrade. http://www.tuner.at/produkte_chiptun...2 &chip=22848
A jump of 40hp and 50tq plus top speed of 180mph and better fuel mileage.
10. BMP Design catback exhaust system: http://www.bmpdesign.com/category-ex...arch_model/166

If anyone DOES notice any new products available for the 335 PLEASE list them here. That would be a great start, as well as any updates you have on these products/brands! I'd love to know whats out there when it comes out as I'm sure so would many of you. More competition = more choices and better parts for us. Also, if anyone buys these parts, please share your opinions with us! :rocks:

PS - Great work SSTARCH1

Reading this thread if you are looking for "tuning the 335i" is completely useless... its all related to the XEDE... I think we need a totally new thread, with other products/software and tuning options in it... and rename this one to "Tuning with XEDE FAQ"

Im looking forward to doing an xede somewhere down the line, perhaps over the summer.
Exhaust-wise, I could go my own route and make my own (stainless is stainless, but all that R&D is what makes it cost so much), but that ricey sound is what I'm trying to avoid (long resonators should do the trick). Working in the aftermarket arena since 2000, being able to weld things up helps me cut the costs down a lot ..

I'll let you know how that goes in a month or two when I figure it out.

Do Not Read This Sticky, It Will Confuse The Heck Out Of You

1. XEDE IS NO LONGER SOLD BY SHIV (see: procede)
2. THERE ARE MULTIPLE OPTIONS FOR TUNING THE 335 (not just XEDE, as this implies)
3. Vishnu's website still links to this FAQ!!!! (fix your site vishnu nerds!)

Somebody, PLEASE either update, or delete this sticky, we need a REAL sticky, with REAL info for ALL tuning products... so that we can avoid posts like these...

What % duty cycle are the injectors running at on a 91 octane tune with cone filters and exhaust (stg 1?). what is the stock duty cycle? might not be a bad idea to list it for 93 octane as well, but all we have around here is 91.

Edit: just noticed this was for the XEDE and the one i was looking at was the PROcede. I think the guys at Vishnu should write their own FAQ on their site or link somewhere else. just my opinion.....
