EOI: Great Alpine Rd II - 11-13th March Labour day weekend

It will be good to get another big trip in before the weather turns. The previous great alpine road trip was memorable, in that it was the first big trip we conducted on this forum. A year later and there has been some great trips, most notably the great Tasmania trip in November. Labour day weekend in Victoria is coming, it is a good opportunity for another event.

This is an EOI to see if people want to get one last trip in for this season, put your name down if interested. The route has been improved since the last trip and covers parts of the great alpine road, and omeo highway. Theres much more twisty roads for some good fun

Day 1 Saturday 11th of March
Melbourne to Bairnsdale, then staying overnight in Omeo

Omeo to Hotham, then from Bright to Falls creek, then up the Omeo highway to Dartmouth Dam for the overnight stay

Mandatory items:
Fuel container - People will need to bring a 20L fuel container, 98 fuel will be hard to come by at times.
CB radio - People must have a good CB radio, 5Watts of power and must support DCS (Digital Coded Squelch) - Buy this radio: linky

This is set to be another epic awesome weekender cruise!!!
I was actually really hoping that we did another one of these again like last year, and I know that there is more than one route through the Great Alpine RD up to Mount Hotham, so really glad you put this together.
Unfortunately I wont be able to make the labour day long weekend

but it looks like you got a good gathering already so should be heaps of fun!!!

The road down the top of mount hotham in summer is absolutely breathtaking (sort of like the transfagarasan) so if anybody hasn't been up that way, you wont be disappointed.

Hope you get the numbers and lock this trip in!!!
