sorry for not being local, digging up an old thread, and being a day late.

But honestly, WTF? Don't remember a loss quite as painful in the immediate and longer-term sense as this.

For me its only from the perspective that we could have been top and stayed top after other results, I dont have any feelings towards Spurs at all as I dont see them as competitors. The important clubs are Chelsea and Man U

Great penalty from Rooney. Good to see him justifying the enormous wages

All props to man u, they clearly outplayed us

keeper situation is unacceptable. the kid could have done much worse, but under no circumstance should he debut against one of (if not the) biggest matches of the season. very simply, we need a starting keeper.

cesc and van persie need to get close to 100% and start against chelsea (though with the way chelsea's been playing, who knows). arshavin needs to wake up, he was my favorite player last year, but now even I want arsene to make him earn his starting position with results.

damn, so frustrating to watch

Sczsesny had a brilliant game in goal or else it would have been 4-5 ! I reckon he acquitted himself better than Flappy would have.

I was disappointed in Arshavin and Clichy in particular. Nani is United's most dangerous player and both of them gave him so much space it was ludicrous. No surprises when the ball that led to the goal came from that side of the pitch then.

However the goal was a bastard fluke of a thing. The luck of champions I'll admit. But that could have gone anywhere. So it was quite dissapointing.

All we had on target all game was 2 or possibly 3 shots directly at the keeper. So regardless of all that: The result was imho fair. Disappointing but fair.

Sigh.

Not with that defence you won't. I understand Wenger rotating the team, given another game at the weekend (hence no Djourou).......but I'm sorry, Squillachi isn't good enough, Koscielny is marginal and none of the 'keepers inspire confidence.

Also, why make substitutions when it is too late?

Soft central defence = inability to close out games = won't win the league.

It's between the two Manchester clubs IMHO.

Mike.

Wenger played his second team (with a few exceptions), got what he deserved. 2nd leg, I'm sure he wont be as forgiving.

They played out of their skins. We played very badly. What is to discuss. We got what we deserved..

Started well, wonder if the Leeds fans will be quite so vocal at the end of this game..

Edit: Bradley Johnson can have a brownie point for that goal, no matter what the final score ends up at!
