Hello Clevelanders/Ohioans. In case anyone is interested there is a car rally called GoldRush Rally that is coming through Cleve on June 5/6 this summer. I have checked out their page and they have some pretty sweet cars (lambo's to maserati's). So I think I am going to try to intercept the rally and roll with them for a little bit, I think it will be fun.

And if anybody is looking for race fuel I found a shop in Akron,

Great! So since its at Polaris, I know that Quaker Steak and Lube has car events there all the time. Is that where it is usually held then or is it around the Polaris Mall?

This sounds pretty cool. I may have to check it out.

Just when I think there is an end in sight with this weather, it gets colder! Wtf. Cabin fever killing me this time of year.

Wheel question for all of you.

Looking for new wheels. Daily driver to Akron. Love the Apex Arc-8. Thinking 18". Concavity starts at 18x9.5" in the Arc-8. I know some on the boards have done it but there is conflicting reports. Anyone know anyone here in Ohio running 18x9.5 ET 35 front wheels? I have read there is a bout 1-2 mm gap from the strut so adding a spacer will help reduce the chance of rubbing with the strut, but that just increases the chance of rubbing with the fender if I run to wide a tire.

9.5 seems wide in the front to me, can't answer about fitment issues though. I have Miro 111's 8.5 in the front and 9.5x18"s in the rear and I like that setup. The rears have nice concavity and the front not so much but they are still slightly concave.

Yeah I think it will be quite cool, this kind of thing doesn't happen often in Cleve.

And I hear ya on the weather, I have been itching for a day to break the car out of the garage

That could be a lot of fun, I may just have to join. Imagine all the fun you're having, and before you know it you're almost to NYC and you planned on just driving for like a half hour or something.

On another note, wondering if you guys have anyone you recommend/know who does Walnut blasting and paintwork? I'll be getting a new bumper come spring, seeing if there's any good local options or if I'll just have to go to the dealer.

The SA at Dave Walter told me that walnut shell blasting prices vary from ~$500-700 for the N54 335. So I went with the DIY option and for about
$80 I did it myself with great results.

I was able to get the dealer do mine for free under warranty. I'm at 37k miles and complained about a hesitation. They found a leaky fuel injector, replaced all 6 with new index 11 injectors, and did the walnut blasting because of a ton of carbon buildup. Obviously not everyone is dealing with the same issue, but see if you guys can find a way to get the dealer to cover it if you guys are under warranty.

got mine walnut blasted today at Turn In Concepts. 53k miles and they definitely needed it. Start up, idle and power delivery definitely felt smoother on the way home. Will report back tomorrow after an overnight cold start

Thank you guys! Everything is feeling really smooth so far.

Still had that cold start 1100 to 600 idle drop/shake this morning though, I'm guessing it's the injectors.

Any Cincinnati locals interested in lending a hand this weekend? I bought an exhaust for my car and was planning to put it on this weekend and could use an extra set of hands. I'll provide the beer and pizza!

I may be able to lend a hand...do you have all the tools, I put my exhaust on my 335i so I have a little experience. I also have a jack, stands and a full ratchet set. Any chance you have an inpa cable?

Also, what day are you thinking?

I've been having this issue on my 330i. Didn't happen once last year so I'm concerned it's happening a lot this winter. It actually took 20 mins for the car to turn over after work yesterday. What the hell is happening?!?!

That's for the reply! Sorry no INPA cable. I have all the tools I'll need for the job. Just got my jack pads in too so can properly lift/jack stand the car.

I was thinking probably Saturday just since the weather should be pretty good. Was hoping to get some people together for maybe an impromptu meet while the break in the weather is here. I'm new to the area so would be cool to meet some fellow enthusiasts.

Sounds good, I can probably do Saturday. I need to get new jackpots in lol...mine have been ripped apart from lifting my car. I'm fairly new here to, I'm down in Oxford since I'm a grad student going to Miami University, but always happy to help a fellow forum member. As of now, I'll plan on meeting up with you and giving you a hand on Saturday, let me know if anything changes

I haven't had problems starting it. It starts up quick, sits at about 1100 RPM for about 20 seconds, then the car gets a little shake and the RPMs drop down to about 600 where it stays. I'd check your battery first.

What part of town are you in and what time were you thinking? I have house viewing appointments starting around 1, but could lend a hand before, or after. I should be free around 4 or so. Big question though...did you buy a slip on exhaust or a full replacement? When I swapped mine I used a lift at my buddy's shop and even then it sucked.

Woohoo for exhaust installs! I'll hopefully be installing my Active Autowerke exhaust this weekend too.

I'm just east in the Mt Washington area. It's a slip on, xpipe back exhaust so shouldn't be too bad. Space may be an issue though since my garage is so small haha. I'm figuring probably start around mid day or early afternoon. I'm free all day so really whenever.

Nice! Should be a decent day on Saturday. Where you planning to install yours at?
