LCI bonnet on pre-LCI

I think this was asked recently but cant find the thread and what I remember there was no conclusive answer.

Basically, my front bonnet is stone chipped so would like a respray. If I buy a LCI bonnet can I just bolt on or does it require the bumper to be changed?

You will have to change the bumper, because the bonnet you have now has the grill piece fitted on there, and lci bonnet doesn't, the grill is on the bumper.

Have I confuse you haha if I have just look at my car pictures and you will see what I mean

Urm, I'm not sure what you mean. My grills are built into the bumper.

I think Business Edition means that the whole grill is in place on the LCI bumper where as pre LCI you have the top edge of the grills fixed into the bonnet

the top part of the grill isnt tho, this is on the bonnet itself.

If you like a An LCI car the grill is a one piece item completey attached to the bumper, Not seen it in pieces myself, but surely fitting LCI kidneys aswell will do the trick?

Trig, no grills are different.

If you wants to change the bonnet, you need to change the bumper as well.
And beside it, change the headlights to LCI ---> complete LCI front conversion.

Do you mind sharing, how much are you paying for bonnet, as I am after one aswell?

Thanks.

Havent priced one, just seeing what I need before I even look. I'd keep my after market headlights though as they look good.

Hi guys, can anyone clear this up for me as I've been seached for a while and cant get a clear definitive answer; Can I put the LCI bonnet on my Pre Lci Msport bumper?

I understand the whole issue with regards to the grills, but as this is just temp and for a short while can I just remove the kidney grills so they dont interfere with the LCI bonnet?
.................................................. .................................................. ..
For those who are wandering why;

I'm going ahead with the LCI front conversion and Ive got the LCI Headlights, LCI Msport Bumper and LCI bonnet. Need to get them to my body shop which is on the other side of London but I cant get them all into the car at the same time, not withoutout damaging something. So want to stick the bonnet on to the car as thats the largest piece, as long as the bonnet latches on and closes securely I couldn't care how it looks as it'll get correct at the body shop. SO am I right in assuming thats if i remove the kidney grills from my Pre LCI bumper, the LCI bonnet should close and be fine for a dash across London using a 50MPH dual carriage way.

Any help is much appreicated...

Cheers Digitalize, you're right, it will look wierd but its work in progress and once the whole front end is complete it'll look a lot more fresh with the LCI front end.

Well I had a read of this thread and picked out two which are within reasonable travelling distance:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...n+the+SE&mid=0

One is in Park Royal and the other is in Wembley so a short distance between the two. Many have great things to say about them:

1st one is http://www.tonyfowkesautomobiles.com/

and the 2nd is http://www.ital-coachworks.co.uk/ital-pages/Home

This is a thread buy an M5 Owner who had his whole car sprayed by the first one so looks and sounds promising:
