New draining technique

Hello all
just a question, instead of loosening the waterpump hoses and all that. what if I just unscrew the radiator drain plug and bleed the cooling system, surely this should drain out all the coolant, or would this damage the waterpump?

Bleeding and draining are two different things.

yeah but if you run the bleeding procedure whilst having the drain plug removed, surely it would force all the water out

Hahaha I had the same exact draining idea the other day I was doing my WP,just run the pump with the rad drain removed, but I do think the coolant helps keep the water pump cooled down but not 100% sure on that.
