Headlight Bulb Out Warning But Headlights Are Working Fine?
I've had an annoying problem I've been trying to remedy for the past month. I've spent hours reading through old threads from various forums with no success.
The car in question is a 2008 BMW 335i with xenon headlights, bone stock. No mods of any kind. Intermittently, and more often after I restart the car after already driving it, I'll get a bulb out warning, which corresponds to CC-ID 120 – Dipped Beam Left Failure, and is usually followed up with CC-ID 130 - Right High Beam Failure. The warnings do not turn off until I cut the car off. If I let it sit overnight it takes longer before these warnings show up. All bulbs are working perfectly fine however, low beams, high beams, and fogs. I have noticed that from time to time, right before the error is triggered, the passenger side headlight will blink three times. Not flicker, but turn off for a few seconds, then turn on for a few seconds. After three times the light stays lit and the error comes on. I have not replaced the D1S bulb because it does not seem to be the bulb or ignitor. The bulb burns fine and does not flicker, and the ignitor has no problem firing up the bulb. |
