Umm, I'm sure I came off kinda like a dick, but that's mostly because this whole thing is getting absurd. Taking photos of the car lights in direct sunlight apparently is a tougher concept than I had once believed... it's still beyond me how there is any confusion about it.

I don't want to try and ruin the rep of Alpine at all. Apparently you guys keep reading over this fact, so I'll write it again for you. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST ALPINE, INFACT I'VE HEARD NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM. I also mentioned that I believe that they do have some of the brightest AEs out there. Do I need to write this again as well for you guys? I called them out because their claims of taking photos of them in direct light is bogus. Can anyone dispute this? Don't you find that to be misleading? If they are so bright, why don't they show how bright they shine in direct light? I think that would be a great selling point if anything else, and I'm a little surprised they don't ACTUALLY do this.

Don't get so pissy over this. I'm glad you like your lights, and I've heard a lot of people do like Alpine's HIDs. I'm sure they're also every bit as bright as Alpine says they are. I've just grown tired of the manipulations used across the board to set up unreasonable expectations for their products.

Ive skimmed the last few pages of this topic and I dont want to get into the sunlight / doctored photo arguement but I do have something to say about these LED angel eye bulb replacements (now that I have one installed):

I gotta say from a bang for your buck persepective the bulb replacement is not really a good value.

I used to have an E46 that had LED rings from Umnitza in the headlights. They were super bright and I could use them as DRL. I think I paid $200 about for the rings plus install items (wiring etc).

I paid $200 for my bulb replacement (used from another member) with shipping to Canada. I have to say there is no comparason between the LED rings from Umnitza (similar to LS3) and the bulb replacement.

Now that I actually have the lights in, I tend to agree with onnex and wish that I would have gone for the LS3. I am not sure of the price on LS3 (or OSS) but I would recommend checking it out before paying $200 for an E90 bulb replacement. Just my 2 cents........

Are HID angel eyes not even possible to make for Halogen lights, or are they not made because there is not enough demand? I would buy those Alpine ones in a heart beat!

Make it happen!

Those look rather dim... about equal to stock but better color?

I gotta say, my MTECs are pretty damn bright. I'd spend the money again in a heartbeat. I agree when you say the best option for DRL angels is to put in an LED ring... but I wasn't willing to crack open the headlights. Overall I am very happy with the MTECs and would recommend them to anyone.

There is something wrong with that picture. Those are not LUX 5.1's in your car. If they are, they they are NOT on.

I make the LUX LED lights and i know how bright they are.

Wow, thanks for this post... I also come from an e46 with umnitza CCFL and then LED rings and was looking for something similar. But it's so hard to choose with all those comparisons and threads.. lol... I also did not want to send my headlight in (since I live in Panama) or pay over $250 for them.

Where is the best place to get the LS3?

Are OSS's and LS3's brighter than Audi's or LCI e92's DRLs?

Comparing mine to an A4 at a meet on Sat when it was cloudy, the OSS were brighter than the A4s, but remember, I have over 200leds and they have mayb 30ish (thats a guess). So the OSS just overpowered the audis.

that would be great thanks.

I thought audi's, although they have less LEDS, they do have reflectors behind each one, I could be wrong though.

OSS vs. Lux 5.0. OSS totally blows it away. No contest.

Yes, that is true, we have the HID Angel Eyes, if your car is an LCI sedan (2009+) our kit works on your car, and are about 3-5 times brighter then the RDs.

Hope that helps
