Anyway, back to the main topic....here are some more thoughts:
Do you need to take more than 2 people in your car (including yourself) on a regular basis? If YES, then forget about a 130. I guess the original question has omitted the 320i petrol because of lack of power/torque? The 130 is a bit of a niche market here, so unless you've got your heart set on one and like the 1's looks, I'd forget about it. As for the 320d vs 323, well it's much of a muchness really. Depends on whether you want a straight six or decent fuel economy, a bit more torque and an engine that sounds like a lawnmower... I'd have to say that fuel economy isn't USUALLY at the forefront of BMW owner's minds! |

sorry, every thread i enter seriously has trouble staying on topic! apologies in advance!!
yeah, for the smallest car of the lot the 130 will definately be the heaviest drinker honestly if i had to choose i'd probably get the 323i it looks good, has enough space, has enough go and isn't so thirsty and it doesn't sound like a lawnmower or come with the 'poor man's BMW' tag that some fools think of 1ers (and MINI's - dunno why )

i've never driven one, but i live behind the porsche dealership... i see (and hear) all sorts of porsches everyday - turbos, gt3s, caymans... i absolutely love the sound of that flat six engine - slightly nudges ahead of the bmw sixes in my opinion (not dissing bmw sixes - i love them too!!!)
whenever i walk the dog past the window, i see the boxsters going for 110k... and i think to myself... wow - that's a bargain! i'll get a boxster one day... gimme ten years (in 10 years time, i'll get an '07 model haha) and those guys that label me as a 'poor man' can shove it! i'll show 'em who's 'poor' from the back of my car at the lights!!! |

i'd love a cayman S
handle better than the boxter and supposedly 'almost' on par with the 911! that's a fair amount of praise for it right there.... pfft no poor men driving porsches as far as i can see

i think maybe i should just stop posting in here - i'm the one that drags each and every thread i enter into "off-topicness"
dr dave, i have a problem: I can't seem to stay on a single topic for too long...and find that i have an incredibly short attention span now moving right along, what were we talking abt? that's right, girls in bikinis...........there i go again - off on a tangent!
