I've been running my Wavetrac for a week now, mostly on dry surface. With xDelete you can sure have some good fun and I also took it to a circuit track where I was running it in RWD, but since it was my first time there and I had my plate full I didn't try running some laps in AWD to compare. In my opinion, for a spirited driver RWD without LSD is completely pointless on any surface.

Edit: To be clear doing this will leave nothing to secure the hub to the spindle. You would have to cut/modify half shafts to secure, Last edited by cortez08; 06-27-2019 at 05:43 AM.. |

I felt some preferred changes and some non-preferred changes when switching to X Delete. I've said elsewhere that it does point out the need for an LSD but I do prefer the way the car drives in town with X delete.
I know theorists suggest it won't make any difference but have they actually tried it? It seems like everyone who has tried it says they feel the difference and everyone with a RWD car theorizes it won't make any difference. |

Has anyone tried a welded rear diff with xDrive on?
In the Audis, you could select locked Center diff or locked Center and rear diff which made the car almost unsteerable, good for the snow and ice..But if the vacuum line came off the center diff and it was just rear locked diff my was that a car with very different handling characteristics. |

M3 diff swap is always an option. Only hard part is the driveshaft rework but it is cheaper, beefier so it takes power like a champ and taller or shorter gears are an option

What's the benefit of having an LSD with AWD and this software?

Imho there's only two cases I can understand for your question, assuming "this software" is regarding xDelete switching xDrive on or off (I can go into details on the custom modes if needed):
LSD+xDriveOff = feels great on dry, get some fun oversteer here and there (switch off DSC and enjoy) LSD+xDriveOn = prolly no difference on dry (at least at stock power), on wet or snow you'll see the DSC flashing later/less, switch off DSC and you can definitely feel there's a change in driving behavior when pushing it even with xDrive ON |
