Breyton GTS-AV Wheel Rehab (W pics)

I picked these wheels up for pretty cheap for my brothers car with the intention of painting them (Because I'm cool like that). Originally I was just going to sand them down and hit them with some satin black but one thing led to another and I ended up doing a base/clear. 3/4 wheels had curb rash one of which was pretty bad. The way the lips are on these I could just sand them down and bingo no more curb rash. I've painted some body parts in the past with success but I've also had some bad outcomes. Very happy with how these turned out. I wouldn't say they look completely brand new but they look pretty good considering the cost. I should have spent just a little more time on the prep work. You can tell which wheel I sanded first compared to the last but unless you're inspecting them up close nobody will notice. The color is Ford Earth Pearl with Vintage Flatz clear which I mixed up to be flat. Glad I did too cause I wouldn't really call the finish flat. More like a satin which is what I was after. Would I do this again? Probably not. Cost of materials alone ended up being about $100 less then having them powder coated. And the amount of time it took to do this was quite a lot. Good learning experience none the less. These will be going on his Black 2012 335ix coupe with 235/275s.

The goal was to have a wheel that looked bronze/gold during the day but black at night. Pics make them look slightly brighter than they are.

Here they are. Unique color for sure. Seems like they take on a new color with every lighting condition.
