Gutted muffler?
So I got pulled over for not having a muffler on my car. I wanna solve this problem by gutting my stock muffler to make it look like I have a muffler on my car. Which is still illegal to do in my city but my question is, will police still get me because they can't physically see if my muffler has been tampered with because I'll hide the welds away from the ground.

The muffler doesn't have anything to do with emissions. They shouldn't be pulling u over for no muffler. Unless your car is crazy loud and u got a fix it ticket for it I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Is having a loud car worth the risk of having to fight a possible ticket? Your muffler may not look tampered with, but the sound it makes will be telltale of an exhaust leak. They would still be able to get you for it, or at the very least, a noise violation. Additionally, your car is now in their system for being pulled over for an exhaust problem.
You will be better off with a louder muffler that is street legal instead (or, even if it isn't, wouldn't be so loud that you'd be pulled over). Personally, this wouldn't be a hill I'd be willing to die on. Last edited by Welcome to NBA Jam; 07-22-2018 at 11:34 AM.. |
