Woke up this morning...
and went down to the gas station to fill up. On the way down, I was using steptronic like I always do, and when I started the car back up, it stayed in D the whole time even though I moved it to sport mode and tried to shift steptronically, it didn't work. Anyone know what this could be?

hmm... never happened to me when i had the auto and i would use manual shift all the time, since the day i took it off the lot and brought it back....
but yeah i agree with above... i'd take it to the dealership if your still under warranty, i know some people with 06 are already passing 50,000 goodluck

I have set up an appointment for next Monday. I have a muffler delete, but I talked to the dealer before I did the delete and multiple people said that the most it could do was cause a check engine light to come on.

Mine never worked from the factory - I could shift up down in D, but when I moved it to DS mode, it would not indicate DS or do anything different than it did in drive. Took in in and they replaced the switch under the shifter that knows where the shifter is - apparently it was faulty and it works like a top now!

Which wires? The ones towards the drivers side or the passengers side?

The one towards the drivers side. It's a harness type of connection.

You must have been hauling ass to the gas station and shifting really hard or something for you to break the switch. Hehe. Thank goodness for warranty.

It is not covered by the warranty. Everyone from service at my dealer was saying that "the wire seperation was too clean to be a snap," and that "it was cut." It PMO knowing that I would never do that to my car. I love it. So, in the end, I will be paying close to $1,000 total.

By the way, I like the word "steptronically." Will have to insert that into daily conversation.

That's bullcrap and they know it. Refuse that work and go to another dealership - At least it works in "D" mode until a real dealer will fix it.
