2010 E90 328xi sedan vs 2004 g35 sedan

Soo... Me and a friend raced on the highway today... And I lost. Is the 328xi this slow?! I would expect more power coming from a 328xi but I guess it's the awd that's holding me back. What can I do to push more power out of my xi? Would a powerbox do any difference? Headers, intake, exhaust, ect? I know the xi models are slow but I didn't expect this. I got this xi at a good deal that's the whole reason I brought if it not I would've bought a 335i. I don't really race, just messing around and stuff but I hate to be smoked by a g35.

Yes XI are that slow. The Power box is a waste of money. You should get a 3 stage intake manifold and an actual tune from AA instead. Also, headers will give you more power for you buck.

Why are you surprised? The G35 sedan has 260hp and 260tq. The E90 328xi has 230hp and 200tq, not to mention extra weight and drivetrain losses from the xDrive system.

Why would you start this thread? Every 335 driver is going to come in here and tell you how you should of just gotten a 335. I'd delete this if I were you or this or just going to spark another pointless debate. If you want extra speed ditch the x drive (cause it's pointless) and get a three stage intake manifold with a AA tune.

The 328xi is probably pretty slow. I've always been ahead of the 260 even the 280hp G's by at least half a car - E92 RWD 328 here with intake and Powerbox

Don't waste your money OP. Save up and buy an M car, mustang or something faster.

Not sure why you'd expect a different result but I guess you've learned that, while really slow, the G35/G37 can actually beat a BMW (granted, only the 328, but still)

A G37 is a 335i league car, while being a lot more reliable.

Subjective on reliability but performance wise they are not in the same league. One can be turned into a 400 WHP machine for $500 and the other would take $5,000 to get there..

Uhhhh I'm gonna have to disagree with this. A 335i would plow a G37...A good friend of mine has a G37S and he's beaten me a couple times by a car length and I've beaten him a couple times by a fender or so (at the track of course )...I maybe have 240hp with the AA tune and he has a CAI, which gives him whatever hp...G37 is not in the league of a 335, just like that fancy new F coupe thing is no match for an M4...

Also, while I'm on here and in the mood, FU BMW for making us buy slow and cumbersome xi sedans. I cant find ONE SINGLE NON XI SEDAN for sale anywhere on Autotrader. If I wanted a 4 wheel drive German sedan, I would buy an A4...but I won't buy one cause they suck!!

Regards
Victor

I will be that guy!

For the amount of money you're going to dump into getting a small amount of HP with all that modding, might as well get a 335i.
And yes, reliability can be an issue with a 335i, but even when you mod a 328i, there will be aftermarket reliability issues as well.

It's not subjective at all. The 335i is an unreliable peice of shit that rivals VW for the sheer number of fuckups the car can have. Granted, the N55 isn't as horrible as the N54 - but it's not Japanese level of reliability.

And I love the argument "I CAN MAKE 400WHP" yes, while the rest of the car crashes and burns around you - who cares?

The the G driver is just bad, but the car has near 50whp on you - not happening.

Sooo... me and a friend raced on the highway today and he beat my 335i with his Nissan GT-R. Is the 335i really this slow? I dont really race but I hate losing to Gt-R's.
