NCS Expert - need to edit profile?

Just starting to learn how to code and a bit confused...
In one NCS DIY it says that you need to select "expertmode" profile and choose edit profile to tick off a bunch of boxed.
However, in other guides they make no mention of editing the profile at all and just tell you to load them.

So what's the difference and which is the correct way?
Thanks

I have NCS v3.1.0
The only profile that's showing is "expertmodus"

Should I be following the NCS DIY guide and editing that profile by checking off the boxes or should I just be using it as is?
Is there a big difference between different profiles?
Thanks!

Huge difference in profiles.
Please update your software and follow the DIY for setting up the profile.
If you don't your next thread will be "No custom coding is sticking"

Alright all software is updated Thanks to ******84
Now in NCS I have 3 profiles:
Expert Man
Revtor's
Expertenmodus

Which should I use to continue with the NCS_DIY by xxxjecxxx?
After selecting the profile do I still need to edit the profile as described in the DIY or just skip to the coding part now?
So exactly what's the difference between different profiles anyways?
Thanks for your help!

No, when you load the profile you don't need to edit it.

EXPERT MAN - to personlize your settings following with TRC files and manipulate with .man extension.

EXPERTMODUS - to add VO or recode some module etc.

Thanks!
I successfully coded my car

Was eager to try this right away and ended up using "Revtor's" profile since all the forums seem to mention this profile?

How is this profile different?
Also, is there a way to make NCS in English? Mine changed to all German after the updated files you sent me

Again, thank you for everything and all your help!

Put this file http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...8&d=1365552774 in to c:\NCSEXPER\CFGDAT and your buttons will be in English.

I don't know what is the difference beetwen Revtor's profile and ones I shared you, I've never used this.

Should you remove the German txt file and replace with the English one or leave them both?

This DIY is odd, repxet doesn't work for NCS 4.01.
I have profiles already prepared for coding and recoding, so no needs to edit them, just upload PFL folder.

Hey guys, any chance I can get the profiles as well? All I have is the default

Edit: Another issue I'm having is after setup, and running inpaload, It says when I plug cable in the dots should be black. However, whether it's plugged in or not, it's always black. Thoughts?

Sure, I sent you.

Don't worry about black dots, it is software (refreshing) issue. If two dots are on then all is fine no matter if your car is hooked up or not.
