Hi all,

Saying hi and of course in need of some new owner advice (New to the forum and the E9x platform).

I've recently bought a 330i N53 and as with any new (used) car servicing comes first, so I've tried searching the forum but can't find a straight forward answer to the correct oil recommendation!

I'm settled on the Castrol 5w40 so wondering if this is the correct oil to use specially with summer coming around (it is LL04 approved).

I've just changed my oil from Shell LL04 0w30 to Fuchs Titan GT1 5w40 LL04.
Working in a dealership, there's a current recall on police cars & thats the oil they're putting into them after completing the works as it's better for higher mileage cars. My car is currently on 85k (N53 325i). When running the shell oil it was burning between 0.25 & 0.5L of oil every 2000miles, since changing to the new stuff it doesn't seem to have burnt any so to me that's a positive change!
