Mine is coming in 2 separate shipments too. How were they packed as my shipment tracking says unpacked tyre! Hope it doesn't pick up any nicks in transport.
It took 7 days from my email order to delivery of the 4th tyre. They were shrink wrapped with a cardbord disc each side of the tyre.

The tyres look perfect and to as I speciified, with lead weights showing they had been balanced.

I am quite happy!

Hope all goes as well for you!

Good stuff -

Vredestein Wintrac Extreme - 225/40/18 will be what you're after - they seem to be cheaper this year than last too

Just got my wintrac extremes

Took 2 days, no cardboard just some basic plastic wrapping, not even covering the whole tyre.

Anyway look fine, and just squeezed them in the back of the coupe and should be fitted at the end of the week.

Tyremen in Hull is where I got mine from last year - called them up rather than mess about ordering online.

First class service and quick delivery, no messing about.

All done
4 genuine BMW alloys 18 M3 style £215
4 Vredstein Wintrac 225x40x18 £610 inc vat and fitting
collection costs ie petrol! £30
£865

I had hoped to get part worn but couldn't find any for love nor money. Lots of places had sold out of the Vredstein, nokian and continentals.

PS The tyre & wheels appeared to have originated from Ulm, Germany, so a 7 day delivery was'nt bad.

Just picked my car up with its 17s and wintrac extremes.

Must admit, even tho the bmw alloys are an ok style, 17s look too small imho on the coupe. Going from 19s emphasises the size difference.

I was just worried about get out of mid wales in the snow which is why I went 17 to give me the best possible chance. However despite these being 330 coupe wheels I should have gone for the 18s.

As for the ride. Feels like silk. More road noise at low speeds and seems a bit twitchy cornering but that could be the new rubber. Typical its much too warm for winters now but should give them chance to bed in.

lets hope its been worth it.

Bring on the snow!

fitted mine today-after car getting stuck last year, and I already had a spare set of 17 inch BMW Motorsport alloys, so:
Had the alloys resprayed
Two Dunlops SP winter sport 255 40 17 for rear
Two Bridgestone Blizza 225 45 17 for front
first impressions today on a short drive - tyres soak up small bumps in road much better than the Mich runflats, in fact it feels very smooth!
Will take a while to get used to how it looks but this is for function not looks !!

Don't worry mate.

The average temp is 7 or below from now on. Get out in the wet - that's when you'll notice the difference.

I'll be putting mine on mid nov, that's the next free weekend.

18s would have been fine, thats what i use and they were able to do spin free hill starts and stop briskly on packed snow and ice that you could barely stand up on.

Several times I got out of the car not realising it was icy or pack snow and fell over.

225/40/18's just arrived this week. On the look out for 245/40/18's for the rear to replace the 255/35/18's. Stick to the same wheels as currently fitted. Mytyres are sold out of both sizes, looks like mainland Europe is or has completed their mandatory change over.

Another set up - Bought a set of 17 inch style 158 from a forum member and had them powder coated. Run Flats suit me so purchased some Pirelli Sottozero Run Flat 225/45 R17 91H from My Tyres.

To be honest I think they look OK. Now looking forward to the warmest winter on record!

Spot on ! They actually suit your car. look good in my opinion. I have had mine for about 7 years now ! but this is the first year I have fitted proper snow tyres to try.....

Yes they fit with no issues at all. Reasonably cheap to pick up now, but some will probably need a refurb.
Also forgot to mention I informed the insurance company (Axa) and they don't have a problem with this at all and no additional charges.
