Cobb AP - euro support inplace - groupbuy?
http://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=622761
Please find the above link. Cobb is now officially supporting the uk. This seems like a really nice alternative way of tuning. I won\'t go into it here. Plenty to read on their website and US boards. I was wondering if anyone else was interested, as I am keen to order and maybe we could get a better price with a group buy. Let me know! |

I'm looking into it too - I'm about to go either the evolve route or this. It's £500 for the evolve Chrimbo deal, we're talking possibly around £660 once import tax and p&p are included.
The Cobb does have a range of maps and the datalogging/realtime data ability. But evolve and a bt cable might be cheaper, and evolve would be more inclined to customise your map just for you... Hmmm Last edited by Nigelo; 12-14-2011 at 12:31 PM.. |

Same power as near as makes no difference. The nice thing is there are different trottle maps, stock and linear. A range of maps - yes similar to auto tune. Code reading and clearing. I think there is no difference between this and JB for warranty issues. But if anyone knows better I stand to be corrected. |

I mean its a plastic case and cable. You can label it as you please for import. 500 quid is the personal quote I have for it delivered to london. So inclusive of postage. Re Evolve, great reports etc, doubt you would be disappointed with either. The code reading, macbook interface, multi maps, portable nature (no laptop in car required) what set this apart for me. |

Stage 1 with DCI's on COBB looks like your standard 70bhp and 80lb/ft at the fly increase it seems which is where I'll be at until next Summer...then DP's for Stage 2 & FMIC for Stage 2+. I'll be happy with that and it might make my lardy cabrio feel a little more spritely, not that it's slow anyway. Put me down on the list, it is Christmas after all . Delivered to Surrey, if that makes any difference. |

The 93 octane maps are by the way equal to what is sold as 98 RON here in Europe, so no expensive 102 RON fuel needed for these. Dedicated race maps (i.e. for race gas or methanol injection) are also under development. Alpina_B3_Lux

Because Cobb can't switch maps on the fly it probably won't be as elegant a meth solution as the jb4 or procede being able to switch at need to a non-meth map.
