Thanks! DP is one of the few mods I haven't made because I am concerned about the sound. I have a competition grade audio setup which is quite absorbing to listen to so I've tried to stay away from mods that make more noise. Plus, I still have 2 more years on the extended BMW warranty I purchased.

anyone who wants an upgrade in sound should start with downpipe in my opinion before getting a catback or axle back exhaust

So I had to uninstall my Cobb this past weekend to flash a ppk onto my car. Drove the car about 100miles with no Cobb and had no cels from my used Wagner catted dp!

Hi, I see a bunch of New Englanders on here. I am new to BMW. Can anyone comment on getting past MA emissions with a catted DP. I have a JB4.
I had to laugh when I read Freelo's comment about passing inspection. My other car is a 99 Accord with 400,000+ miles. Up until this year I had to do that every year to pass inspection for an emission and/or transmission code. It worked but sometimes it took me 3-4 shots to get over the 100 mile mark to place the system in a ready state for inspection. I guess I am assuming the JB4 would also put the ECU in a not ready state. |

Hey Acc saw your note. I know what you mean about old cars and passing inspection. I also have a 2002 530i in addition to the 335i.
Thought I would add to the story with my catted DP. Just moved to California and had to pass CA emissions which is the toughest test I think anywhere. The n55 with catted DP passed with flying colors. Had to go back a second time with the 530i but it made it through also.

For best sound you want a full exhaust That being said DP is a great option because it makes the car louder (more aggressive) and is a very cheap mod (catted is more expensive but still much cheaper than full catback + you get power gains)

Very nice. I'm on the fence between this and the VRSF catted.
I'd like to know if this dp has a better quality cat compared to VRSF's Magnaflow 200 cells. Mike, could you upload some pictures of the inside of Wagner and VRSF?

Great review old thread, but any further feedback from anyone??
As I am looking to get this Wagner High Flow Catted Downpipe for my N55 to make it full bolt on, current price in UK is £685. Currently I have MHD stage 1+ & the difference from stock is very good but felt it needed a bit more... Also I have the Wagner 5.5inch stepped intercooler which I installed my self, the quality is brilliant & fit is precise but a slight bit of cutting/adjustment was required however was straight forward. I plan on doing the downpipe myself, have seen many videos & tutorials so hope it goes well but am concerned if get a CEL code, if I do what are the options? Also, I have read this down pipe only comes with just the bolts/nuts, the 2 gaskets for the lower side connection & v-band clamp with gasket on turbo side connection need to be purchased seperately & are advisable to be replaced? |

From reading other posts it seems the fitment issues are common with the 135i & not so much if any with the 335i... Also, just to confirm the sound, its not raspy/screechy?? As would prefer a more Deeper tone. Quote:
As mentioned above can you advice of any fitment issues were resolved or changes made to the part?? |
