The 2020 Audi RS6 Avant looks *hot* - US availability now confirmed!

Anyone seen this thing? I think it looks amazing.

Would love one in the garage to retire the M2 from grocery and kid pick up duties Hopefully they bring it to the States this time.

Oh lord that's giving me the vapors. How do I convince the wife that she wants this instead of an SUV and also that we need to double our budget for it? Haha

I've been waiting for a S or RS wagon to make it stateside for a long time. Might have to settle for a S5 or RS5 hatch at this point

This is my most hotly anticipated car rn, with apologies to GT4’s and C8’s and others.

Just waiting for final word on US availability and pricing

I rented one for a week in Italy this year. An A6 Avant 40 TDI. Great car with tons of space. Only had 21 kilometers on it when I picked it up. Really comfortable on the autostrada with the cruise set on 135kph, but still reasonable in the twisties around Tuscany. I configured the trip computer to read trip data in miles (because I am lazy): 38mpg for the week with about 800 total miles driven. If you love wagons, you'll see them all day long over there. Always hopeful BMW will bring one over but not holding my breath. Maybe I'll buy an Audi or MB out of spite for BMW refusing us even one of their cool wagons.

Not bad at all. I had an RS3 - it was a very fun little car.

I'm trying to do the exact same thing. She wants the Q8. I don't think I'll win, but you've got to try!

Still can't believe it but according to Jalopnik the 2020 RS6 IS COMING to the US:

Quote:
Update, 6:05 p.m.: It’s official. The 2020 RS6 Avant is coming to America. It has 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, at least according to the European power figures. Of course it has Quattro all-wheel drive, and a 0 to 62 mph time of 3.6 seconds with an initial max speed of 155 mph, though Road And Track is reporting that can go much higher, to over 189, with the dynamic package plus optioned.

Audi claims U.S. figures will be announced at a later date.

I like the low hoodline from side profile: makes the car look small, sleek and sporty, unlike all the bloated abominations you see everyday. I applaud AUDI for pulling off this "golden era" 1990s-look, despite all the safety regulations working against them.

The old one started at £86,000, so I'm guessing we're looking at starting over $100k here. Wow.

I want a wagon or Avant in manual.
Glad this is coming to the US, I used to not like wagons and now I love them.
Might be getting older, having kids, and realizing it is a nice blend of practical and sporty.

What a beast! I was thinking X3M or Macan S for a daily. Looks like I'll be holding off on that idea. Sheesh.

This I seriously amazing and so glad it's coming to the US. Hopefully they release pricing soon and based on past performance, RS is typically cheaper than M.

Originally, I was thinking about getting either the M2CS or GT4, but this new release is having me think again. I know...completely different cars, but would love just one vehicle to be a comfortable cruiser and fun back road rocket
