a PS2 upgrade with a dinan stage 2 n55 tune should be able to pass CA smog right?

I doubt the Dinan tune is meant to work with the larger turbo

The OP is not putting a bigger single turbo he's saying PS2 with a flash tune. So yes that should work. I don't think Dinan is worth the cost nor do I believe it can give your the output you're desiring at 450. Also, Dinan may not compliment a PS2 meaning they don't have maps for a PS2 so you won't get the best tune for your hardware.

Also OP 450 is not going to happen on your engine unless you upgrade the HPFP. I think you can hit 450 with fuel hardware upgrades and with the stock DP however, you'll probably destroy the DP and potentially the 02 sensors very quickly.

His HPFP is more capable than yours. I would estimate that I was around 475whp in my 2011 e92 on a stock fuel system. I was able to run 19psi on E30.

I have the continental HPFP same as the N54. Which model HPFP on the N55 can handle 450 stock?

The same rotary style HPFP that came on early N55's and N54's can handle it. To label a HPFP as being limited to a certain power level is the wrong way of thinking about it. You can run lower boost and therefor not need more fueling but then have higher timing advance to make power.

I usually ran methanol injection on my setup but found the limit of the HPFP when I was running the PS2 at 19 psi on E30. Timing was 15 degrees advance. I trapped 120 mph on that tune but it had corrections in 4th gear due to heat. With a single gear dyno pull I have no doubt it was near the 475whp figure. When I dynoed the car on a different tune at 430whp it felt much weaker than this E30 tune.

With methanol injection I trapped 125mph and had boost turned up to 25 psi at one point. I normally ran in the 20-23psi range on E20 and methanol though.

Good stuff thanks for sharing.

I have the rotary style pump. With a stock turbo and a custom tune from Mission Performance on a dyno we were able to squeeze out 330whp and 430 wtq. At one point we had it put out almost 500wtq with negligible gains in hp.

(330whp because of the difference in DMEs on a F10 vs F30 or e9x N55's)

I have not dyno'd my new setup so I don't have the numbers prove anything but I can tell you mine doesn't feel anywhere near 450ish.

I had a n54 JB4 with a 91oct BEF putting down 370whp on stock hardware. That's what I am comparing with.

I know it's possible to get high 400's whp with a PS2 and and proper fueling. I can tell you my stock hpfp doesn't like e30 mixes on the top-end. My hpfp crashes often on the top-end with blends. Oddly enough though my same style hpfp on my n54 loved blends and more than e30 so I'm also a bit confused as to why the n55, same pump doesn't.

Try the new overdrive pump for the N55 guys with the N54 style hpfp.

Pretty sure the newer style pump n55's have hpfp upgrades available, as well as injectors. ready for full e85

Wait there's an update/ new release to the rotary hpfp? You have part numbers or links?

And new injectors? Or you're talking about 2013 N55's and up?

I believe it is spool performance that created an overdrive gear to spin the HPFP faster.

I did 489whp with a Vtt stage 2 on e50 and stock hpfp. I did have throttle body injection though and stage 2 lpfp... miss that car

I know about the helix OD for the continental I thought you might be referring to a New hpfp part number like a index 12 for injectors

2012 E series have the updated hpfp, does not share same style as N54 hpfp.

Nostrum HP had injectors and a pump on display at sema I believe. You can see the injectors on their Instagram page. They are supposedly ready for order but I do not see it on the website.

The production month the change took place was March of 2012. Some 2012 models will have the rotary style pump.
