Odd exhaust any idea

So hello guys, I recently bought this 325i 2007 with a few mods done to it and I was wondering if any of you knew what kind of exhaust this is... It's located under the driver so first time I see, I also noticed a cable coming out of it and it is connected to another cable I tried to figure out if there's a button to make it open or close but no luck so far...
Also noticed from the picture, looks like the transmission is leaking?
Sorry the picture isn't so clear, it's hard to get a picture from down there, probably will take another clear one and comment it...

Not sure what that is, what does the exhaust sound like?

Looks like an electric exhaust cutout, you will probably need to follow the wires to see where it is connected. Looks like your transmission pan gasket is leaking.

It sounds good to be honest, does have some backfires on my 325i 2007 2.5 v6 which is surprisingly good, wanted to get a better exhaust setup thought it would help with the sound but seeing as this is cutout like a straightpipe, it's good enough... Car alone cost me more than 10k$ so don't think it's gonna be worth it

Exactly like this, I wasn't able to find out where it goes tho I will have to check again, thank you CTinline-six now I know what it is, and yes looks like it is leaking, I will have to check that out, thank you very much

Nothing, I have the larger version of your N52, 3,0 litere displacement. I love it, one of the best engines BMW has made in years.

My issue was with you calling it a V6.

I have the N51B30. 3.0 Litre with the 3-Stage intake manifold. Certainly worth getting the tune, especially with the intake manifold. N51 just has slightly lower compression ratio than the N52B30 because of the SULEV requirements. Besides that, with full bolt on modifications and a tune, it should be anywhere from 230-250 at the wheels. The 2.5L N52 would probably land you around 170-180 horsepower at the wheels stock, not really sure.

Crank horsepower numbers are really moot.

Pipe-dream. Unless you put a supercharger / turbo on it, you will not ever reach those numbers on n51 at the wheels.

Axiom (taskmaster), Biginboca, and few others (check out dyno thread), who were FBO barely breached 250whp with their manual n52. With FBO n51, you are looking at about 230whp if you have manual.

Yeah with those mods you are probably looking at 250 crank HP max. Probably closer to 240hp. I still plan on tuning my N51, deleting my secondary cats, and I have a Euro intake. Not doing it to chase HP numbers, but it increases the throttle response and just makes the car a bit more enjoyable/smoother to drive. The Euro intake alone eliminated some of the throttle pedal lag, so I think the mods are worthwhile.
