Should I attempt to do install myself?

What do you guys think:
RWD e90:
Turbo stage 1, DV and Inlet tube install.
Amateur skills.

My original installer can't do it, shops are either super expensive or far.

Kinda stuck... Almost wanna say, fcuk it, lift the sucker and start working.

(another problem - no you tube videos)
DYI are pieced together and not in full detail..

You have a RWD so already your job is much easier than our bulky xDrive cars.

I would say that if you have time and don't need to use the car right now, attempt it. It shouldn't be that hard if you are patient and take your time to understand what to do!

Just make sure you have the proper tools for that job because if you don't, then it is a whole different story.

I didn't know what I was doing when I took on the PS2 install. The PS1 is easier aside from disassembling the turbo to install the new compressor side. If you feel confident with that part then I say go for it.

I agree with Turbod. I went the PS2, FMIC, DV, and down pipe route two summers ago & it was a nightmare.
Why it sucked?
- My car is AWD. I did it on four jack stands in my driveway. It absolutely sucked.
- No garage. Always at the mercy of the weather.
- Foolishly believed that performance parts suppliers actually kept stock on hand. Spent seven weeks waiting for all the parts to arrive

The scope of your project (PS1 RWD) should be pretty easy provided you have a garage or live in the southwest.

Be ready for any uncontrollable issues, And make sure you have everything for the job all the way down to the oil,oil filters and coolant. Took me 3 days (in between working) to completely install the kit i purchased. Good Luck bro

Make sure you replace all seals you remove as well. That way if and when they go bad you don't need to bust a mission. Just preventative maintenance

I went stage 1 turbo, and fbo on jack stands. It's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Fortunately I wasn't dependent on the car, with kids I could only do bits at a time
