You're not wasting your time. Like what was said previously, I think you would have a better chance going through the suspension forum.

Nick

Maybe we can both order the factory alarm and have a day set aside to get them both put in. Seems like the DIY thread is self explanitory. I know there is a little bit of extra work, but doesn't look like it's a full day install or anything.

I've always wanted to mod for the light under the rear view mirror.

EDIT: Called the clown nose LED mod

Its actually pretty simple, most e90s and e92s are pre-wired however expect to pay about an hour of labor time at the dealer to use progman to recode ecu.

Ipod adapter on the other hand ... its a pain with fiber cables. Also requires recoding when installed.

I love seeing ads like this - people that have used the car but have taken care of it at the same time. It would be fun to see it in person.

Nick

EDIT: I had to e-mail this guy.
Come on man, do you think I'll ever get to 90k miles the way I'm going? I do like the idea of a carpeted garage though

Can you believe I drove my car to work today? I don't know what's come over me

Thanks for the offer Brian, but I don't think I'll be running the 335 on the track much. I'm looking for something a little less expensive with MT to play with

I don't have an alarm in my E92, but I did have it fitted to my '06 E90 a few years back. I had it done at Motorwerks, and it was kinda spendy, in the region of $600. Like Kevin said in a earlier post, you can install yourself, but you still need to go to the dealer to have the software updated.

There are many viewpoints on the effectiveness of a car alarm (ie alot of people don't pay attention to them), but I still think about fitting one to my current car. As an added bonus you get the red light on the mirror activated and you can have a beep when you lock/unlock.

I can't believe you drove it! Bet you're glad you had those winter tires on there; mighta got stuck otherwise??

Nick
lol, I nearly did get stuck a couple of times on 62, so glad I have the Wintersports

The headlights look like aftermarket items with angel eyes, and I'm just not a fan of angel eyes on bimmers that didn't come from the factory with them. Sorry!

Nick
I believe anything pre-2010 (or maybe pre-2009??) is already wired for the alarm, so it's an easy install. There is a module you mentioned and the siren I think goes in behind the rear fender liner. Maybe also a motion sensor needs to be added inside the car, can't remember.

My '07 just rolled over 45k. I look for reasons to drive it and I've enjoyed every mile!

While I understand and respect protecting a car from harsh winters...these cars are the ultimate DRIVING machine. They are not nearly as cool parked away in a garage!

Congrats Gary on breaking out your car today. It was a beauitful day to enjoy some spirted motoring dodging the craters in our crumbling freeways

I have 53k on my '07 and don't mind taking the longer routes. Let's not talk about the road conditions, I have bent 2 of my other wheels thinking that is just a simple puddle but actually a gigantic boobytrap.

Nick
Yes, some of them are bent. However, they still hold air perfectly. Tires are still in good shape. I am planning on selling them in order to get those VMR V701 that Kevin had at the shop. I was thinking about downgrading to 18s but I like the flush look with the 19s.

I actually think a good compromise for my car at least is 18s with a beefy set of tires to fill up the wheel arches.

There are indeed some nasty potholes out there - be careful! Some of the real bad ones I pass daily have recently been filled, but this time of year, the repair doesn't last too long...

No kidding! There are some real nasty ones out there. I've only hit one so far this year and I lucked out pretty good. I cringe when i accidently hit one in my other vehicles, I really hope to miss them in the bimmer.

I just called Motorwerks, but missed them by an hour. They closed at 4pm.
