is it good idea to mix ohms on speakers??

there is a lot of companies, which makes speaker sets like SUBS - 2ohms, and MIDs+Tweets 4 ohms...

i was wondering if XD600/6v2 will handle it...

To the last two posters

1)If you choose and under seat that is good at midbass such as a
set of Jehnerts and doors that play as low as possible that will help.
Also you can use a DSP to help if you want to go that far.
2)As long as you have each stereo channel pair on the same type
of speaker it will be OK.

so the EVO PLUS setup should be fine?

http://www.audio-system.de/loudspeak...mw.en.php?l=en

I did already upgrade in my e92 (audio system speakers + jl audio xd600/6) , but I am thinking forward, if I buy next year 6er f13 without B&O. and only Hi-fi setup

thanks

Its unclear from the specs if the impedence

Its unclear from the specs if the impedence
on the audio system speakers is as a set of three
through there crossover or what .
Semi active what the hell is that.
I have heard those are pretty good speakers but they are
not common.
I would stick with a set of jehnerts or maybe jehnerts for the
floors and morels for the doors if you want something high end.
If you have the money for a 6 I would consider one of the new
helix products to power it. Like the v8 or the dsp 6.

Well I had the first one Audio System in my E92:

http://www.bigdogaudio.de/lautsprech...-system-x.html

, but i blown them up with my XD600/6 , maybe i connected them wrong...

So I bought MB Quart set ...so far so good.

But that new set EVO plus seems promising (at least the power in specs 2x 130/85 Watt and 2x 250/175 Watt). There are many sets from AUdio System with strange 3ohm impedance... but as I see the EVO PLUS set is consisted of those speakers:

MID+Tweets 4 ohm:

and
SUB - 2x 2ohm 250/175 Watt

I was also thinking about the AMPIRE, which has similiar power:

http://www.ampire.de/Loudspeakers/Ve...=29166&p=29166

Morel seems amazing..but they are 4" and probably to much deep , so the Jenhert seems much optimized...

http://www.jehnert.de/en/shop/doorbo...woofer-system/

I have never used DSP before...so I am not sure if I will connect it correct , but let see afte new year, how equipped car will I get.
Thanks for info.

People have been using the Morel doors for

People have been using the Morel doors for a long time here
they were considered about the best without going into the
Super Exotic speakers here . I have them myself they will take
a lot of power and they play lower than just about any other
4 inch. Plus they have a very warm pleasing sound.

The ohms on those is fine people use the swsxi 2 ohm in combination with 4 ohm doors all the time.

No modifications only speaker adapters.

No modifications only speaker adapters.
4 to three hole I think technic is selling them now
and there are other places that have them.
I have dotechs replaced by the 402 model.
These are for the 4 inch doors they don't make anything
for the under seats Jehnerts are the best underseat
midrange. The rule for door speakers is under 50mm depth.
I do have the 4 door I don't know if the coupe makes
a difference . See the speaker list referenced in this thread.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343673

So this may be a problem with the e92 according to the list.

which DSP would you recommend for XD600/6 v2 and some premium speakers?

I have never used DSP before, so I am not sure how it should work in car, and how it should be connected... can somebody give some links with DIY and explenation?

Thanks

In your case you would be better served by going with a combined camp/DSP like the match PP82. Contact don at unexpected creations or bimmertech.

If you want dsp I would say ditto to taibanl

If you want dsp I would say ditto to taibanl
comment.
but there are new variations on the Helix dsp's
so you might want a v8 or 6 dsp for more power.

This is a one of a 14 part dsp tune series.
Look it up on ytube.

ok. thanks for support. the youtube video has terrible audio noise in background... but i did understand, that it somehow measure the speaker output and modify it to better results...

but I need to know how it should be connected - wired with AMP in trunk... so I guess :

CIC output to > AMP > DSP > cable speakers

I am still searching f13 ...so maybe I will be lucky and get one with B&O but if not. I want to be ready for audio upgrade...It should be defacto the same like I did in e92 (xd600/6 + speaekers upgrade) ... so we will see after new year. thanks guys

//edit:

what? Do i understand it correctly, that the match PP82 is AMP and DSP in one?? But does it have balanced inputs?

No the dsp goes between the amp and head unit

No the dsp goes between the amp and head unit
or idrive. In some cases the dsp and amp are combined in
one unit . If you do not understand this you need to do
a lot of homework on home and car audio before you make
a decision or choice on what to buy.

Does anyone sell the thicker spacers still for the underseat subs? Ideally, the 0.75" thick spacers.

Not sure if what I'm looking for is here, there's just TOO much information in all of these threads.
I'm going to throw a 12" dvc sub with a ~500rms amp.
I'm purposely only looking at amp options with high-level and auto turn on features built in, hoping to bypass a separate loc and having to tap a turn-on lead.

Would I be better off disconnecting the under seat subs and just keeping the dedicated 12 for low/bass notes or do you guys like to keep both?
When tapping into the stock wiring for high level signal, do you guys use the sub leads, or the leads from the rear speakers?
I have hifi option 676 which I understand has the best analog outputs (before hitting the factory amp?) and then heads back towards the speakers (processed by amp or separate dsp?)
Maybe a little more direction on the particulars, if someone more experienced could help? Thank you

My car has base stereo system, I upgraded the HU with a Dynavin N6 4x50w @ 4-8ohm . I want to upgrade my speakers ( 2 front and 2 rear + add 2xtweeters ). I found a set of Bmw L7 speakers 2 front Mids/ 2ohm with 2 front Tweeters/ 4ohm ====2 rear Mids/ 2ohm. Can I install this set or will I have problems with the Ohms?

Can a door speaker be used as a centre

My 2012 E92 M3 is blessed with a base audio system unfortunately so an upgrade is required. I'm putting together a plan of what I need and have two outstanding questions.

I plan on doing this upgrade in two stages; first I'll be replacing the door speakers with Focal ES100Ks, fitting the tweeters into new corner mouldings as per http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_6086.

Then I'll be re-coding the CIC to drive balanced outputs and fitting a JBL MS-8 amp.

So, question number one:

My understanding is that the fidelity of the centre speaker isn't particularly critical compared to left/right, so having upgraded the door speakers, would I be able to install one of the old door speakers as the centre speaker? Will it fit? Related to this, with reference to http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_9185, are cars fitted with the adapter, part 4, irrespective of if they have a centre speaker fitted? I've not removed the cover on my car to check (not wanting to risk breaking any clips until I have to remove it).

And question two:

The remote connection required to turn on the amp will come from the quad lock connector, X13812, pin 13, RAD_ON. Whilst I could wire this direct I see that this feeds back to the Aerial diversity module via a splice X13887 thus:

The location is shown as:

It is practicable to splice into the cable at X13887 or would I be better off running a cable from X13887 along with the balanced line feeds?

Thanks,

Steve

Rear PDC operation

Rear PDC beeps appear to come from the rear speakers, and the front beeps I'm guessing are from the gong (as I don't think it's the front speakers). What's the normal solution to this when using an amp connected to only the front speaker output (as per JBL MS-8 instructions)?

EDIT: I see from http://ms8-eu.jbl.com/installation.h...ips%20MS-8.pdf that this issue is acknowledged. Presumably there's a solution to this, perhaps running all four line outputs to the amp (I was planning to do this anyway for flexibility), but unfortunately the link on the JBL page to http://retailer.installationexcellen...KeepThis=true& is broken. Did anybody download their 3 series reference doc? I'll send them a query anyway.

Steve

Oh, THIS doesn't look good!

Can somebody please confirm if the JBL MS-8 plays well with the E92's bluetooth car phone integration. Does the 8ms delay introduced by the JBL cause any echo issues?

Thanks,

Steve
