Question Which brand single kit are you most interested in?

Just want to make a poll to see which single turbo kit out, or coming out soon, everyone is most interested in. The options are just for the companies making them. So, please post the specific kit of the company you choose and leave a quick answer as to why. As an example, I'll just use the kit I bought when I was purchasing.

example:

vff900 because it is/was the largest single turbo kit available, leaving me the most head room to make more power down the road without having to replace the turbo, and also because I prefer the heat management of a bottom mount kit. I think the price seems a little steep at $8k, but it is labor intensive and the quality is amazing for a tubular design.

Gracias people!

edit: If you don't mind, could you guys also throw a quick thought on the price of the kit you're picking as well! My example has been updated to reflect.

PTF, because I know Jake and he does massive amounts of R&D before he will release something. I believe that setup will work for an everyday DD car too and be perfectly reliable.

I also added a part about thoughts on pricing. Do you mind updating your post to reflect? Also, thank you for taking the time to respond and not just pick a selection in the poll!

I think the pricing is on the high side, but well worth it. I doubt i will have that kind of money to throw into my car, so RB turbo's will have to do, but they are a small company just starting out not too long ago so of course the pricing will reflect that rather than a large company that can do testing and such for cheaper and have a lot more hands on the project.

Ptf

I appreciate the general design quality and obvious improvements on the manifold side. Refinement, fit from unit to unit, spool, heat retention of the inconel....its all superior to what is on the market. Couple that with garrett snails for 7-8K or so and im on board come winter time.

I will say fastgtis top mount looks sexy as hell, and ADs bottom mount looks superior to most tubular examples ive seen.

I put in for PTF. It's looking like I'll be working with them for the low rpm side of my sequential build. The manifold design is what sold me it is the compact one I need for the build. The AD engineering kit may be an alternate but it still has a lot of tubing that the PTF kit eliminated. I'm debating whether to use a tial housing on the HTA3076R or go with a Garret cast divided vband housing.

It's an expensive kit but it will likely eliminate 2-3 test manifolds that I would've needed to build otherwise. So I think the savings are there.

FYI PTF's kit is 304SS. They are looking at other options but inconel isn't likely to be one of them. Inconel would need to be investment cast to the rough shape and machined to finish due to the work hardening properties. It would be a sick manifold but we are talking extremely expensive for only a little better performance to 321SS/347SS

I like PTF but the price is pretty steep...if VM could make the manifold for better spool some what like the PTF then I would prefer them plus their local to me

FFTEC makes a beautiful kit. I do like what ptr is doing, but prefer the tubular style manifold of the FFTEC kit. When FFTEC has their sales you can pick up a bottom mount 900 kit for about $7200 shipped, so on that note I think its priced a bit better. As for this so called "unmatched spool" No one really has seen both kits side by side. I think if both companies ran the exact same turbo setup the difference would be so minimal if there was any at all.

Mike, this thread is not about calling kits out. It is SOLELY about stating which kit you are interested in buying and why. PTF has yet to do a full release. So, please remove your comment or retool it to say why you lean towards a specific kit.

Thank you.

was he not just asking a question?? I would love to see as well. Very interested on how this kit performs. I can't wait to see some of the big contenders battling this out.

C'mon guys. I would really like this to not be a discussion thread and more of a reference thread for WHY people want the kit they want. I can start a discussion thread where you can all go bananas if you want?

Will you each please delete and post HERE?

FFTEC here, I knew when I went single I wanted the big top end power. This whole game is about what you are willing to sacrifice, quick spool was something I could live without.

I got a great deal on my top mount FFTEC kit to boot, so it was a no brainer for me.
