does it apply if only after you replace one or does it already come standard?

Ive yet to see a written statement from BMW Canada confirming this 10 year warranty. It seems that every time I ask at the dealership I get a different answer.

The parts manager at my dealership forwarded an email to me from BMW confirming that they are extending the warranty as they did in the US. It was at the beginning of this past summer. If I manage to dig up the email I'll post it.

I'd really appreciate that! I've tried a bunch of times to get documentation from my dealership (autowest BMW) and they'd always tell me they'd send it but never did, and now when I call, they all insist that there is no 10 year warranty. I've gone through 4 pumps at 40k kms on my out of warranty 07 335, so you can understand my concern.

It is in the recall notice from November 2010. The HPFP will be replaced, injectors checked and replaced if necessary, and the computer reprogrammed - this will be covered for up to 10 years and 160,000km as part of the emissions warranty. That way BMW doesn't have to classify it as a safety related issue. My car has Dinan Stage 2, so they reflashed the Dinan software as well.

If took a while after BMWNA (USA) extended the warranty for BMW Canada to follow, but about a month later the stepped up.

If you need specific confirmation for your car, call BMW Canada and have your VIN handy. I did.

When you called Autowest who did you speak with? The SA's are usually quite knowledgeable about stuff.. maybe you spoke with a clueless receptionist only.

Excellent! Thank you for the document. The only person at autowest that confirmed the 10 yr warranty with me was the head tech. I then requested the documentation from the SA (which was never sent). When I called back a few weeks later and spoke with another SA (the SA that dealt with me earlier was not in), they said that they didn't think there was a warranty extension, but would check into it, but they never got back to me. Anyways, thanks again!

Hey sorry to raise this from the dead! Hopefully someone will have some information on this though.

I phoned BMW with the VIN for a 2009 335i Coupe and they informed me that neither the HPFP or fuel injectors were covered by any sort of extended warranty. Does the extended warranty exclude certain models? Does BMW Canada no longer recognize this extended warranty? Or do I need documentation to prove to BMW that the issues are actually covered?

Thanks

Phone your dealership with your VIN and check. If they say it`s not covered provide the document given above. Neither the BMW retailer in my city as or BMW Canada`s representatives had heard of this issues, but when I quoted the above document above both the retailer and BMW Canada informed me that the hpfp was actually covered for 10 years/200,000 km.

What a terrible design. This reflects horribly on BMW to have these massive recalls on fuel pumps. Embarrassing actually, especially for a car that is supposed 'entry level luxury'.

Unfortunately luxury cars generally aren't synonymous with reliability. It's often the opposite.

Lexus can do it (and make a very reliable car at that) and their new IS350 slaughters the 335i and Cadillac ATS

Same with their GS350, it gives the 5 series a good run for their money!

Anyone know if this is still valid, having some issues with BMW Canada, they keep telling me its only a one time replacement.

Never seen a disclaimer statement from BMW Canada to suggest such one time limited fix only

Ask BMW Canada to show you such policy
