Very stupid question 328i engine

Newbie here.I only owned vtec engines before, and I was
very comfortable flooring my v6 vtec because I knew that
the engine is gonna last for hundreds thousands miles
anyway and nothing will to happen to it. But I never
had bimmer before and always wanted one. So I stopped
on 328i xdrive automatic, can't go with mt because
girlfriend will be driving the car too. My main concern is
reliability and I want the car to last, so just wanted to ask
if it's safe for the engine to just floor it sometimes when
driving on the back roads and have some fun in general.
So the question is if this engine was created for this and
will handle everything with no issues or it's just capable
of giving you nice acceleration but you'll pay the price
down the road( fixing engine oil leaks and all that stuff)
Car has only 35k on it, so the engine should be in good
shape. Should...

You can floor a 328i but you won't go anywhere but it's safe to do as long as it's up to temp. The N52 is a pretty reliable engine

Yeah, I was just looking for some acceleration in corners , some simple and fun driving experience. I know that I won't get any feeling from straight line on n52, especially coming from vtec, but I think I will like everything. Because with fwd it's nothing but just straight line acceleration, little bit boring after time

I was drifting my car in the snow for a solid two hours, no issues.

Won't go anywhere?

328i is plenty fun on backroads and can easily exceed speed limits. OP my sister has a 3.2L TL and the FWD just takes the fun out of driving it. You will like the e90 328i.

You'll be fine romping on your car a little bit I've been beating on my car for the past 8 years/85k miles and never had any major issues outside of the typical stuff for the N52

I beat on mine every day, many 6500RPM upshifts.

wait for the oil to be warm and it's fine.

as to the 328s don't go anywhere.
well that's the tortoise vs hare argument. N54s are fast, when they're not broken.

I have a 335 with the n55 and I find it enjoyable stock. Haven’t had any issues besides a misfire which was a given considering it had 70k miles at the time.

I have a 2009 328i that is my daily driver and weekend backroads toy. I've been driving/exploring Maryland's backroads in my car for years with the typical N52 repairs and maintenance. I've got over 100K miles. Floor it and enjoy it. 👍🏾

This is not exactly what I envisioned when I read that there was a “very stupid question” inside...

Sure it is, you have to floor it to get anywhere anyway
