Are Titanium Mufflers Louder Than Stainless Steel ?
are titanium exhausts louder than stainless steel exhausts? comparing apple to apples, if you take a stainless steel exhaust and make a titanium version and put them side by side, would there be a sound difference?
also is titanium more prone to cracking in cold than stainless steel?

i think it would sound the same maybe a little touch different. Just depends on how thick each material is.
sound difference slightly, possible negligible. In terms of weight yes. |

Most Ti exhausts I've seen/heard are def louder. They use thin walls so the sound comes through loud and clear. Ti seems to resonate easily, has a ring to it.
OTOH an aluminum exhaust is quiet due to thicker walls, and the material has a flat tone. Naturally the muffler has a large effect on the sound level and quality, so the above observations are just general traits. |

this is interesting...i would wanna go titanium but dont want a metallic sound like rasp.

really depends on the packing material. A good example is our Titanium muffler we build in house vs a vibrant muffler. The Titanium is quieter due to how much packing material we add. Titanium has a unique note in my opinion. Can't go wrong with it!
