Winter is over and now I have little rust spots all over my car

My OEM rims have a nasty coat of yellow crap on them. I am sure that the yellow stuff and the rust spots were caused by road salt (bad winter this year).

I can get some of the spots off with my fingernails but some of them wont budge. I have no idea how to clean that yellow crap from my wheels.

I searched but I didnt come up with anything.

Help?

Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner.

Break dust particles are iron, and over time those little iron specs embed themselves into your car's clear-coat. Your OEM wheels are also clear-coated and can suffer from the same problem. As you can imagine, those tiny iron specs oxidize, and the orangish color they leave is quite noticeable on lighter colors (go look carefully at any white car).

Thank you! I was looking at that but I just was not sure.

I think that the yellow crap on my wheels is from the sulfur in the road salt...could that be the case? I will post pics to show what I am talking about.

Not sure but a picture of a dirt wheel will do nothing. Once you clean you're stuff properly, additional questions can be taken care of

I can vouch that the Sonax wheel cleaning is amazing stuff. For the paint it should like you just need to clay the whole car and then do a good polish. I'd be shocked if you actually had rust all over your car vs just embedded gunk

The "rust" spots are not rust on body panels. They are on top of the clear coat. I doubt its fallout because I live in a remote part of Germany. Nurnburg is an hour away.
