Cruise control shutting off?

Hi,

Has anyone else had this problem...

I am driving down the freeway w/cruise control on 75mph, then suddenly I see a speedometer icon on the LCD where the cruise control mph setting usually is, then the cruise control shuts off & won't re-engage.

Reason could be that you might have lost traction for a second and it automatically shutoff. By chance, did this happen while driving in the rain?

No, dry road, level surface on freeway.

Once it shuts off, it won't re-engage until after I shut off & restart the car.

It does have a piggyback tune. I didn't see anyone else running this tune that's having this problem, though...or anyone else at all come to mention it!

I had a similar problem when I upgraded my Procede to Canbus. Turns out my connection to the Procede plug was loose. Try tugging on all the Canbus wire connections to make sure they're tight.

I'm also facing this issue. I've noticed that the problem comes up once you accelarate hard (while C.Contr is activated)
Then, it takes quite some time/distance to be traveled, until it's possible to be activated again.

The first time i faced this issue was back at the "times of V2" when we firstly installed the speed delimiter wiring into the harness.

I have also the issue from time to time since I have upgraded the PROCede firmware to 125/127 but I cannot tell for sure it is the cause. Something I found out to get it work again is to simply shift into another gear and back into 6th gear then I can reactivate it again.

Will check the connectors to see if they are well connected and see if it helps.

Thread revival...This just started happening to me yesterday. It only occurs at speeds above 70 mph. The only mods I have are a tune and DCI. It was not related to traction loss or the DSC being turned off. Hoping to find a solution before I do a road trip in a couple weeks. I have not tried the shifting gears trick (6MT) listed above to see if it works. I rarely/never do much interstate driving in my daily routine so without going out of my way I won't have much opportunity to test it otherwise. Hope someone has got a fix to this.

I do think it has to do with traction

I was cruising at 77 in ideal conditions. I have had my cruise shut off due to traction loss (hydroplaning) and it was definitely not like that this time. I am pretty sure there was a different message displayed when the cruise shut off because of poor road conditions. This time it simply said "Cruise Control Deactivated"

Mine has done this a couple times before but if I take it out of 6th gear and reengage it, the crusie can be reactivated. Not sure why this is but I can remember at least 3 times in the past year that it has happened to me.

If I keep having the problem I'll try that trick. I was hoping to find a fix rather than a work around. I was restarting the car to get the cruise back online, but it would only take a few minutes of cruising before it would deactivate again. Rather annoying, but shifting gears is much simpler than restarting the car.

Have you tried switching to map 0 on the procede and see if it happens again? I'm going to try this today as I have a long trip ahead. I've never had the issue before though.

I did try it on Map 0 and it didn't shut off, however I was only on the interstate for a short while (about 30 miles) so I didn't get to test it for any extended duration to confirm it wasn't present with Map 0. It seems to be fairly random as to when it shuts off so its somewhat difficult to test. I am doing a much longer trip in a couple weeks, but so far it has only happened on Map 1 (I don't run Map 2) so far. I'll have much more time to test it on my upcoming trip.
