What is the cheapest Andriod Auto capable head unit out there?
I want to upgrade the Nav in my wife's car this Christmas (B7 A4). I need something that has Apple CarPlay. But next September we are going Andriod, so I want to ensure we are good for that too.
AppRadio 4 would be perfect but doesn't do Andriod Auto. 4100 NEX works but I'd like something a bit cheaper. I'll do online, refurb, used, doesn't matter. She doesn't appreciate sound quality at all so that's not a factor whatsoever. |

The cheapest option IS the 4100nex at about $500 new, the next option would be the Kenwood DDX9902S which can be found for just a bit more. There are no other aftermarket options besides the nex line and Kenwoods new units right now.
In my opinion, pick up a cheap carplay unit for now, by next September there will be more units released by the same and other manufacturers, and the prices of the current units will decrease as well. |
