Also, can other's confirm the adapter/cable I will need for the MHD flash using an Android phone?
If you are just going Stage 1, you're fine on the oem intercooler. (Saif2018 is also correct that Stage 1+ recommends the fmic upgrade, i took a chance running 1+ on stock IC based on my driving style and luckily haven't had issues so far but again, YMMV)

This is the cable I use for flashing

You'll also need the OTG adapter to connect that to your phone, but some androids come with it in the box so you might be set there

MHD license, upgraded charge pipe, K & can cable and OTG Adapter purchased.

I replaced the stock air filter with a K & N one last week.

Still not sure which coils/plugs I should get. Lots of comments on that here. Knowing I will put 2000/miles or less a year on the car and may not go to Stage 1+, what's my best solution?

As far as coils and plugs go, if your staying at stage 1 the recommendation seems to be stock coils and NGK iridium plugs.....maybe 1 step colder. I've been seeing conflicting information about which coils are actually the latest and greatest.....elder or Delphi. Both seem to have been OEM at 1 point or another. I've also heard mention of using the coils from the S55 cars, but I can't see much difference.

Tuner I am talking to who will probably do the work said OEM should be fine, it's what he recommends for his clients. I was just checking with the smart folks here.

I believe the s55 coils are because they're proven at higher HP applications.

I'm using this combo on my car:

OEM Bosch plugs will be fine, use Eldor ir Delphi coils.

I'm running OEM Bosch plugs and Eldor Coils, never had a problem with them.

OEM Bosch plugs are good for at least 400whp or more, you'll be nowhere near that on stage 1.

So in general, either or is fine...Bosch vs Eldor? Either way I'm grabbing them from FCP, I lifetime warranty seems worthwhile on something consumable like this.

When it comes to the S55 coils, my confusion comew from the fact that both the N54 and the S55 call for OEM part # 12138616153.

Bosch plugs and Eldor or Delphi Coils, yes.

FCP is the way to go. Their Warranty is second to none.

It's going to be the cheapest, hopefully longest lasting, grin inducer of your lifetime!

Either your not in the US, or you bought MHD at a point when the exchange rate dipped in our favor! A little jealous because I bought my Super License on 1/8 and paid $320.18 (249.99 pounds = 330.18 on that day)! That $27 could've gone to a 2nd set of smoked LED markers as one of mine just stopped working! Lol

My Thor dongle should arrive today. I'll be flashing the e93 to stage 1+ tonight! But.....it's supposed to snow in Indiana tonight. I'm tuning it on the day I'm likely parking it for the winter!

lol.

MHD is worth it in my opinion, pays for itself with the functionality you get.

Boats used to be my toys/hobbies. My last boat had twin V8 454s/7.4s that burned 35 gallons per hour at cruise. I used to winterized them this time of year.

The BMW is A LOT less expensive and will get more use.

That's EXACTLY why I don't own a boat......and use my friends boats whenever possible! Came close to buying one more then once and my better judgment won out thank god! No such thing as a "cheap" boat! Lol

My grandfather always told me that if it flies, floats or fucks, it's cheaper to rent.

It didn't end up snowing. It got down to 35 degrees and stayed rain.

I had some issues, self inflicted, but got it tuned last night. Stage 1+. I intended to flash stage 1 first and then stage 1+ today so I could give the OP my impressions.....skipped that.

Holy shit. It's the same car......until about 3k rpm. It's a damn weapon. I love this thing.

Just wait until you get a few more bolt-ons and bump it up to stage 2+......and if you have access to e85, that's even a bigger jump.

I was running an E40 tune all summer and recently went back down to stage 2+ 93 tune for winter.....and the car kind of feels weak now compared to that E40 tune

ARM CP, SSR DCI's, Wagner 5in stepped IC......I'm catless DP's away! I had a dollar amount I was willing to throw at it before I put it up for the cold months and I'm about $350 from it right now. I'm going to go ahead and flash the xHP tranny tune and dance right here in this new box of torque I've found for a bit. I think I'm better served cleaning up the way she shifts......but...the VRSF DP's are on sale for $269 right now!? Lol

The plan was to park it for the winter at the 1st snow. If did end up snowing over night. I went out to the garage and popped the hood to apply the battery tender but stopped short
I checked the weather and there's supposed to be a couple of clear, 40 degree days next week. It might not sit on the charger until spring after all!
