What does this mean? Did you cut anything on the muffler or on your car? Want to make sure there would be no issues with my shop getting a near OEM fitment.

what's the gain on these? If I were to spend $1700 on muffler only, it must give some damn good reason to... I mean look and sound wise, it's awesome but I don't know if I want to spend that much if there isn't any noticeable gain...

Full Titanium... that shit isn't cheap and the build quality + fit/finish are absolutely top notch. The design is straight through... you can look into one end and you'll see light at the other. You'll get the typical gains from an axle-back exhaust (since this isn't a full cat-back) but the real gains come from deleting cats, resonators, larger diameter piping, etc.

Just check out some M3 vids of this exhaust on youtube... you'll know why it's desirable after hearing it.
