I used to run 20s and I love them. Only reason I went back to 19s was b/c I switched to air and 20s stopped the car from going lower b/c I rode on taller then recommended tires. I rode on the same size tires as a person with a 19" wheel would ride on. I never rode on 25 series tires. I rode on stretched tires on the Vossens wheels b/c of the offsets. As for the Volk wheels the tires WERE NOT stretched. I know many people will say 275 on a 10.5 is not the right size..and they are correct but everyone knows tires can run bigger or smaller. And mine just so happen to run bigger so, even though it was a 275, it fit like a 285 so there was no stretch...hope that makes sense.

Vossen CV5 20x9(+20)/10.5(+27) 225/30/20 and 255/30/20

Volk GT30 20x8.5(+29)/10.5(+37) 225/30/20 and 275/30/20

Vossen CV3 20x9(+35)/10.5(+42) (in these pics I had a 5mm spacer on the front and 12mm spacer on the rear)

As I've said before, this is the only e9x car I've ever seen on 20s that I thought was set up right. The second to last pic is money.

Got these 10 inch wide Work Varianzas that came with the car they're 285/25/20 on H&R coils and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and for now they're fine no rubbing at all but I just bought a set of 285/30/20 Pilot Super Sports for the rears which I am going to get mounted on tomorrow evening.

Yes I'm laying in a hospital bed justifying my choice in size which I should not have too.

Rims and tires arrived (without be being there) and if I need to get new tires for the rear for fitment then so be it.

For those looking and trolling around to just invoke there opinion and say I told you so, don't bother and mice on. It's all a matter of taste and I think colored wheels look like getto crap but to each his own.
No hate here just pointing out the potential downsides of running 20s. If done right, they look awesomely aggressive. if this is a toy car and/or your local roads are smooth and even, go for it. I finally got my car back with 245/45-17s and m3 control arms and I couldn't be happier with the way it rides, I had to drive into DC this morning and feels so much better than on 19s. it's just a matter of intended use and situation. hope your health issues get resolved soon.

Well had surgery this morning after days of diagnostic testing to find out why I was in so much pain. It was so bad I had to call 911. They took out my gallbladder this morning and also ran into some issues during surgery. From an old surgery when I was 16 it produced a lot of scarring so it took a lot longer to get the gallbladder out. To say the least I have quite a few scars on my stomach now from the probes which they had a put in me six times. So i'm now home but I'm not gonna be able to pick up anything heavier than 15 to 20 pounds for at least two weeks so it's going to be a little while before I get to doing anything with these rims

But I did measure the height of the 285 /30/20 tires mounted on the rims and they are 25 1/2 inches high

That makes no sense as they're 1 1/4" shorter than they should be but oh well. Could be brand and wear. Good luck with recovery.

It's entirely possible. My latest setup is 245/45-17 and my speedo is back to reading 2-3 MPH slow again like it was with the stock 255/30-19s. It was pretty near dead on with 275/30-19. There should be a 1.2% increase in diameter over stock by the math but it's not working that way. Tires don't always follow their nominal sizes exactly, you have to look at the spec sheet and measure/test fit. Shouldn't be that way but it is.

Also, can't understand why peeps find it necessary to stretch a tire just so they can fit a wider wheel; especially when concavity isn't involved...pointless.

It's stock camber on m3 front control arms front. I use it for DD so I'm trying to get as many miles out of the tires as possible. I also don't understand why you'd want extra wide and therefore extra heavy wheels with skinny tires stretched so they don't have good sidewall strength or protect the wheels from curb rash. You gain weight, loose strength, loose traction, gain cost, all for a look. Not my bag. It's all about performance. Looks are just a bonus.

Test fitted mine today and both fit PERFECT like it was born that way. NOw due to my limitations from my surgery yesterday, I can do much more then that, if my wife was home when I was doing this test fit she would have tied me down in the lounge chair. In about a week I should be well enough to get them all sorted out and take it for a ride but right now, all looks perfect!

These beautiful big gems are going on my baby tomorrow god willing and my surgery holds together.

Looks good. just take it easy and stop if it feels like you're pushing it too hard. Hope you're happy with them when it's all done.

Yeah, I need to focusing on pacing myself or I'm going to be in trouble.

Health is number one. I had a hernia operation with complications in May. Take your time and take care of yourself first.

It took me a few hours to do this with all the stitches in my stomach but it's done. They fit like a glove and no rubbing and I went from 17 RFT to 20 regular Continental tires, the ride is great.

Not bad OP

Drop the front ~1/2" or so and you'll be set.

Rears are supposed to be 26.7" Maybe you got lucky and the brand you have runs small. Like above said, 1/2" front drop and you're good as long as no rubbing.

LOL this is why you shouldn't listen to armchair experts who think they know everything about wheels and tires when there is proof they fit beforehand.

Glad you got them on slickman, they look great!
