The higher psi is usually when it goes full on smoke screen. It has been doing this for quite a while. The car has had new silicone hoses and oem pressure converters for over a year now. I have checked it for leaks several times. We even took it apart and manually tested the wastegate. I really think that I am not getting the proper output from the vacuum pump. I wish there was a place here in San Diego I could drop the car off at. But I drive it so little, I keep on putting it off. A great tune and great service from AA Rodriguez!
This is the point where you need to do some logging. Personally I use INPA and Test O.

Damn I knew you were going to ask that.

Heres what I can tell you with confidence....you cant log with INPA..... Test O is a free software that a dude wrote for the BMW community. It uses INPA as its back end...and then logs the data.... Pretty slick.

But you have to have INPA working first. So consult some of the other subforums to download and install INPA and test O.... you should be able to figure out the rest. (Jarek has a custom list of items he likes to see so he can provide that to you if andrew doesnt have it as well)

Put my foot to the floor this morning from 50 mph and for the first second got the traction control light, then a few seconds later triple digits showed up and the brakes went on. With meth the way this tune pulls all the way up to redline is really nice. Unfortunately, so much power means fun only lasts a couple seconds unless youre the kind of person who relishes death and destruction.

I've done a bunch of coding, so INPA is working fine. I think I found a thread on Test-O and the custom config he wrote for us. I'll let you know how I make out

Nothing special about replacing the dde, make sure the connections are fully seated. Just make sure youve pulled the fuses for DEF.

Otherwise, enjoy the new car

I went from stage 2 to 2.8 and the difference is very noticable, let alone going from stock to 2.8.

Thanks. I am seriously fired up to get my car back. I hope to hell that going from a piggy back tuning box to the 2.8 tune makes a big difference. I have a water meth system so I am hoping the car is very quick.

Has anyone run any 0-60, etc. numbers with the 2.8 tune?

So I just got my car back complete with its new custom Bulgarian exhaust system (thank Profi) and the 2.8 tune.

First impressions as follows:

-The car totally hauls ass and feels like it is providing at least twice the power of my tuning box.
-The car drives a lot better...throttle response is so much better, shifts...everything is better
-Torque is much improved
-max boost from 26 to 33
-Acceleration at shift points is much better as well
-Pulls much better in higher rev ranges
-Sounds great with new exhaust system...much prefer have a mild amount of rumble and being able to hear the turbos
-Given how quickly I can get to triple digits, i will definitely be replacing brake pads more frequently.
-AARodriquez was fantastic on the turn around. Sent it on Tuesday, my mechanic had it back in the car by 9:30 a.m. Thursday...east coast/west coast transit...

Smoke is as expected...it is certainly not smokeless under WOT. The smoke is not crazy, but it is definitely there under WOT. If it should be truly smokeless (which seems unrealistic) please tell me what issue/fix I should start chasing down.

Don't like the diesel smell...appreciate that BMW was totally able eliminate it with their system.

FYI my car has a Snow water/meth kit and a Wagner intercooler.

Smoke reduction...
Just wanted to throw this out there. I have seen smoke on cars with boost leaks, vacuum problems, high intake temps and old air filters.

If you have ruled out boost leaks and vacuum problems then you may want to consider the ATM intake, it can make a drastic difference in smoke.

thanks Andrew appreciate the advice. anybody else out there using the ATM air intake? (update...never mind...I see it has not been released yet...that said, anybody had good luck with an aftermarket intake? I remember TDI made a pretty good case to leave it stock.)

I am blown away at how the 2.8 tune has transformed my car. It just pulls and pulls.
