If you take a look at the tint that's over the dots from outside, it is actually an eye sore.

What Socket did is what most people do with the addition of a roof spoiler or vinyl wrapping that top section. Some even paint it. Problem with vinyl is that it looks purple when sun shines on it.

Roof spoiler makes it make sense.

Thanks Wolf, exactly, I should have mentioned that I installed a roof spoiler

Nice, you may as well change the suspension top mounts when you do the springs & shocks.

How low are you going?

Can you explain more about the suspension top mounts? I'm beyond a novice in the suspension game let alone BMWs

In terms of going low I want to be comfortable enough for daily driving but a solid flush fitment is what I want. A finger gap I wouldn't mind at all!

Plenty of info on here about top mounts but I've attached a link for you.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...gB1520IG2EQEBb

It makes sense to replace them whilst the it's all of the car & the mounts are relatively inexpensive.

Opps I forgot post the link, now attached.

Yeah not so great 😤 Had vanos issues and went into limp mode everytime temps go beyond 120deg which is every 2 and half laps of the GP circuit. Cleaned the solenoids this weekend but have oem replacements en route. Still need to work on the rear suspension bits (ball jointed arms) and get a trans cooler to stop the zf6 from sucking all the cooling capacity of the system. Hopefully can sort them all out before the next track session in october 🤞

No to Chrome

A lot of people like to debadge their cars, but I actually like them. I like to rep what I own So I decided to get gloss black 328i badge, very easy DIY, I personally removed the old badge and put the new badge on in 15 mins. I highly recommend using electrical or 3m tape and tape along the straight edges of the badges in a rectangle. I personally took a marker and marked little lines on the tape where the corners of each number and the letter I stopped at. This made applying the new badges super easy! My Space Grey build is coming along, slowly deleting all the chrome and adding more black

Badges can be found literally everywhere from Mashimarho, Amazon, Wish etc.

What's the plan for the front bumper? I'm surprised you didn't get the m-tech lip

Honestly as of right now i haven't really thought about it. Extreme Auto part Canada sells a carbon lip for the OEM bumper non -m tech, so it would go right on my current bumper. Part of me does want to do the M tech bumper and then lip for that, but as of right now with only one month of ownership I've splurged enough on this car LOL. Next summer I want to have everything looking like how I envisioned it. So far I've done....

Gloss Black kidney grille
CF M style side mirror caps
Gloss Black 328i badge
Changed the DTR lights from halogens
Replaced right inner tail light unit
waiting on my Mashimarho F30 style automatic shifter (coming in today)
and picking up my 19' Forgestar F14 wheels and tires today after work (which need to be refinished)

LOL all in a month
What I'm planning to do soon is:

Window Chrome trim delete
Window tint
Fender indicator swapped to a smoked one
but plenty more to come in the coming months that's for sure!

This is the lip i was talking about. After i purchased my car, literally walked over to the parts counter and ordered the lip the same day. The best thing i did to my car to date. Completely transforms the front end look.

Yes!!! I've seen this as well and I really liked it, another member showed this to me as well. When you order from BMW do they sell it painted or primed ready to be painted? And what is the name of the lip, I love it

I have a really good tint guy and he said it was impossible to make it perfect, and the only way to do it perfectly was to either razor blade the dot matrix off (which was risky cause there is no going back) or to use a black strip of vinyl across the dot matrix. I chose to just live with it not looking perfect. He did the best he could, and being that i am pretty particular I don't notice it unless i am right up on it looking for it. Its been 3 years and its holding up fine, looks the same as it did when it was freshly done.

There's a process to make it look good. Knocking down the thickness of the dots with steel wool and a lubricant is the trick. The issue isn't so much that the film won't stick to the dots(it is to a certain extent), the bigger problem is that they're too proud of the glass surface and the film can't conform that much. Knocking them down, while not removing them completely, is how you can get a successful tint job on dot matrix. Same thing goes for cars that have heavy defroster lines. Of course, this is a lot of labor and tedious, so most tinters won't do it, or just don't know about it.
