It seems these recalls have decimated the stock of BMW courtesy cars so you'll likely end up with something...less than ideal if want it sorted right away.

As I'm the second owner of the car, not purchased through a BMW franchise, I haven't received a letter about this.
So I called the nearest dealership, gave the registration number which indicated three recall issues, and got it booked in for 6 June.
They said they would likely need the car for 2 days so I asked for a loan car. I don't expect anything special. Probably a Mini.

My local main dealer uses those nasty front wheel drive diesel 2 series minivan things as courtesy cars. When I get mine booked in I will let the Mrs take the car over there and she will have to drive the minivan.

Was in today enquiring about it... They have booked me in for a week on Friday for the battery connector and the blower harness recall.... I asked for a courtesy car which is available that day... initially they could book in for a week today but no loan car available ☺. Better not be a Mini 😂😂. Anyone been getting decent courtesy cars?😁

I had a mini Cooper as a courtesy car from Coopers Sevenoaks a few years ago, it was alright.

Rang sytner oldbury for mine, there are 2 outstanding recalls on my car but they dont have the parts in stock. so they have stuck me on a waiting list and will book me in for both recalls to be done at the same time.

mine is a April 2008 build

Called Arden Maidstone today, it's booked in for 24th June. They are doing the blower motor & also want to do the battery cable although mine doesn't appear on the recal list for that particular issue.
In order to save the embarrassment of having a front wheel drive diesel 2 series minivan I have got them to pick my car up & return it once the work has been done.

Mines now been called in for the blower motor "Product Enhancement" can't get it in for a week due to volume of cars going in. Will probably have another 420d as a loaner whilst it's in

Just had mine sorted today ... spent a tenner on a taxi home. But atleast they washed and hoovered the car for me despite the miserable weather. Jealous that many of you are getting courtesy cars, I didn't bother asking for one. Job was done in less than 2 hours.

Rang to book mine in today. Was told that they didn't have the parts and didn't know when they would get more in. They will contact me once they know.

I'd really like to get it done before I go to Le Mans.

Mine is in today for the work. I wasn't aware there was a second recall around the blower unit until I was phoned after dropping the car off. The service guy advised that if the blower unit wiring/switches show any signs of damage/melting/residue then as they don't have the replacement part in stock they'll have to keep hold of the car. He said about 50% of cars have had issues. If that's the case I get a hire car at their expense, I'm guessing they have no courtesy cars available.

Rang up to book it in and got told the same.

At least I've got a call logged with them, so if something does happen, they have nowhere to hide.

That's the 335i in now🙂. No M4 or X6 courtesy car tho.... just a 1 series deisel😀
