One thing's as sure as death & taxes, when you increase the sound, you decrease the mpg .

Fantastic cars. One of my mates has had 2 saloons and an avant he liked them so much, he's also been wetting his pants about the new one although i have to say that after seeing it at Geneva I don't think it has the presence of the B7 (ie the arches ain't flared enough).

He only averaged about 18mpg out of his and the love affair with the last one ended when the Audi warranty ran out and he got a quote for a 3rd party warranty. The Milltek and Tubi exhausts sound great on them but standard they sound better than most anyway.

PS Roger, they are surprisingly shit in the snow despite 4wd.

Growing as in getting older/bigger Steve

How's the knee?
Popped into to see the Ringmeister, and our favourite Restauranteur, and he mentioned you were hobbling along like Long John.

Let me know if you need a Zimmer,it wouldn't look good on the rack of the Audi, but it would fit in the boot

Hope the knees sorted soon.

Carl needs to sort a Kart meet like he threatened,we could all get together there

I've no idea what you paid for the RS4 but did you consider an RS6 Avant?? There's something about the RS6 that just floats my boat, it just shouldn't look sooo good.

Have to say i couldn't agree less - i have thus far been very pleasantly surprised with the performance and especially the handling - it is certainly no slower than my E92 M3's felt - almost exactly the same lazy V8 - whether mine is a particularly strong engine and has been driven well by the original owner i don't know but it seems to pull like a train - its nothing like the power that my R35 GTR was admittedly but it will more than do me! I just love the practicality of it and it is just SO fat from behind!!! And you just can't be a girl whose a little bit wide in the diff!!

I do think these look better in avant form compared to the saloon.

How is it compared to the 335i tourer you had mate

Hey fella - sorry ive not been in touch for a few weeks - been super hectic - hope all is well with you and Chloe?
Im really pleased with the RS4 buddy - it has genuinely surprised me both in performance and handling - it feels a lot stronger than the 335i did and pulls much much harder when you get it into the right rev range and it handles far better obviously - seems to corner really flat which again feels amazing considering its an estate!! And i agree that the RS4 looks so much nicer in the Avant form over the saloon. The only downside is the MPG but hey ho, you can't have it all and to be fair ive been humping it around pretty much everywhere, ive covered just over 250 miles and the light has only just come on - so its manageable!!
Ps; Lets get another E90 Karting event sorted ASAP - especially know my knee is improving!!

Not sure what litre tank the B7 RS4 is but i was filling up at a Shell in Sheffield and i had about 6 people come up to me, looking around the car and giving me very kind compliments. One guy then said if i knew the trick of getting more fuel in the tank?? He then showed me how to press in this little button near the entrance to the filler - when the pump clicked full, you press the button in and apparently it releases the trapped air and allows you to put about another £5 in!!

I almost bought a Nogaro Blue B5 RS4 Avant a few weeks ago - still looks awesome and it was a lovely example but it did feel very dated by comparison and as much as i love it from the front and even the side, i hate it from the rear!! Great car though and ive seen some super fast modded B5's - a real iconic car.

Thumbs up

Loving the new steed Steve. They're an awesome car. Dom had a saloon for a while and they're a cracking bit of kit. Do prefer the Avant. Can't beat a fat arsed German bird!

Regarding the karting, would be great to get something sorted. Whilton Mill near Daventry is a great place to rent for an hour or two.
