3 stage intake manifold on 328i

Ok I did do several searches on this topic to no avail. I see the new kits available but are quite pricey, looking for a used one on eBay and wondering of those of you that have done it are you glad you did? If you purchased a tune who did you get it from? Thanks in advance and if there's a thread on this if you could point me to it I'd appreciate it.

You didn’t search this at all.

Op....there should be several threads on this. I used one to research my manifold swap. I’ll see if I can find it.

I did the upgrade on my 2011 328 E91. Think I paid 275.00 (local pick up) with both DISAs in great shape. Make sure the DISAs are good.

As far as worth it....absolutely. Bump in power and throttle response. I’m running it with the AA tune full AA catless exhaust setup and Euro box. Very happy!

Respectfully I did, maybe I didn't do it correctly but I did search, 3 stage manifold swap, 330i to 328i conversion and M50 manifold. I apologise if I'm not very forum savy but I do try before I ask for help.

Thank you, I'm searching for a manifold now, I did have someone here send me a pm that has one for $380 shipped. I appreciate the feedback. From the research I've found a lot of guys say go with BPC tune but I'm open to suggestions 👍

FFS the very first thread in this forum is a 3IM thread. Literally the topmost thread in this section. It's stickied. Use your eyes and your brain. Fooey.

If he is using a phone App to access E90 post, he could have the "stickies" turned off and never know they where there.

consider a free bimmerlabs tune for the 3-stage conversion. You'll get exactly what the 330i came with from the factory.

don't pay more than $300-$400 for a used manifold (even that is high IMO). I picked up mine for $150.

do consider buying new PCV hoses before doing the swap, or if your car is under recall, bring it to BMW and have them replace them afterwards. They are prone to cracking and you'll really hate yourself if you break one and have nothing to replace it with.

and yeah, when on your phone (Android too) the sticky posts don't show up.

Kids these days...

Does anyone even use the f**ing internet anymore via an 'old-person browser'?? Or is the internet just a big collection of apps to today's youth?

Sorry, been thinking this lately and this was a perfect opportunity to vent lol.

LOL

I certainly don't qualify for a kid anymore.

My first computer was an Apple II e. 64k ram and I thought it was fast. Still remember double sided floppy disks.

Just a reminder of what modern computers used to look like. LOL

Anyone remember Apple soft or MS Basic? Try to write a program to fit inside a 64 kilobyte box.

Please send PM with more info for the free tune. I had the AA tune from a while back.

You know, with MS Basic, that was back when you could literally open the owners manual and learn to code. That was also when you found out how hard it was to program graphics to key with refresh rates and make it look like something was actually happening.

On the old apples, I think the first thing I programed was a color-changing starburst lol.

First program on a Commodore was a math-based adventure :P

I chose my career, ulitmately, because when I was six, our first computer (a Mitsubishi MP286L running DOS 3.0) would display the the code to NIBBLES.BAS and GORILLAS.BAS in QBASIC before you could play the game. So I figured out how to write basic software in QBASIC by looking at Nibbles and Gorillas.

It was also in this manner I learned to use my brain and my eyes

I'll check my file for the recall, when I bought the car it had every receipt from when it was purchased new, it's about 2 inches thick and 99 percent of the time it went to BMW for anything it needed.

Have a manifold and new gaskets and new pcv hose on the way along with a Magna flow cat back exhaust, looking for a little deeper sound. Did the carbon filter delete and the silicone intake hose. Now for the fun part water pump and thermostat 🙄 why is it when your doing performance stuff it's fun but maintenance stuff is a PITA😁
