'07 320d M47 - rough idle after warm up
Hey all
First post here, hope its in the right sub-forum. I also opened this topic in the bimmerpost forum, posting it here as well just so i can get more opinions, hoping to resolve the issue. About a month ago got myself a 320d, 2007 (163hp). Completely different territories compared to my '04 320Ci until recently, so really getting to know the whole diesel topic. So far happy with the car, but there is something bothering me. Car has 198000 KM on the clock, so not brand new, but has a new turbo (with all the hoses etc) since 3 months ago, and everything is original, no remaps, nothing. The problem is, after 15-20 min drive, coolant temp is at 86-87 "C, when I stop somewhere and let it idle for a bit, I can feel its a bit rough. Occasional shivers felt inside, RPM dipping 20-30 revs for part of the second, and in general vibrating a bit more than normal for a 4-pot diesel. Otherwise no driveability issues, pulls like it should in my opinion (or at least no less than the 320Ci...) There are no codes, I keep checking the DME datastream with a portable OBD2 device, rpms are about 830, fuel pressure values desired and actual are about 305-306 at warm idle, however I notice the boost pressure actual is 1010 mbar while desired is about 970 mbar. Sometimes it seems to run smoother, and I noticed the actual is about 100 mbar less than desired in those cases. Not sure if it matters but worth mentioning. DPF is regenerating as it should, and recently cleaned MAF and MAP, and changed air filter. I also ran a Liqui Moly fuel system cleaning additive a month ago. Question is, should I be considering an injector fault, or in such a situation it would throw a code? If not, then what else could be a suspect? Its a b*tch that there is no code related to it, at least as a starting point... A lot of text, sorry bout that... Any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome! Thanks in advance! |
